I was really excited to see a portable hub that supported Thunderbolt, power delivery and had USB 3.2 Superspeed 10Gbps out on USB A and C ports. I thought I finally had a way to dock my Mac Air M1 with a single cable to power, mouse, storage, and a usb-c monitor. But I was disappointed to find out the Display Port protocol didn't get extended to the USB C data port. I knew that if it did, that it would likely be the same stream as the HDMI port and that would have been fine, but unfortunately it did not support any video any usb port.Everything else worked okay, but the cost is very high for something not as refined as it should be. The build quality is a mix or plastic and metal. The directions had English typos and the unit itself has a warning sticker saying that temperatures of 131 degrees Fahrenheit are considered normal... It is not normal for anything you can touch to get that hot and I'm hoping it was just another typo, since it did get a little warm but nowhere near that hot. If you really need some 10Gbps ports instead of a much a cheaper 5gbps per port hub, then maybe the premium price could be worth it to you, but not if you needed that 10gbps for video over USB.

The hub runs quick with my modern flash drives, no throttling like some hubs do, and the HDMI output is pretty sweet. Overall build is quite good.It gets rather warm, though, or maybe that is a result of the higher specs?Pretty simple and straight forward device to use, too.Easy recommendation.

I wanted to like this product given it was one of the only options available on Amazon that provided an 8k HDMI output (not that I needed this but I thought it would be nice to get something somewhat future proof) and I assumed that would mean that if definitely supported 8k output then it should have no problem with dual 4k output. Unfortunately I have not been able to test its 8k capabilities yet but the 4k works fine. The issue I have is that the USB3 ports are absolutely horrible when it comes to connecting external harddrives. The main reason I got this device was to be able to add harddrives to my laptop and free up the only two USB ports directly on my laptop device but unfortunately that was a no go as the harddrives constantly disconnect making the device a highly overpriced expansion hub for basic usb 2 peripherals or and external monitor. If you are hoping to use external storage with this device, LOOK ELSEWHERE!

It seemed okay at first, I even ordered another. The. Things slowly stopped working, video display through the usb ports, the. Then the hdmi, now it seems to not want to supply power at all. Wish I could return. It does get extremely hot, maybe too much new technology in too small of a space. Never good for extended electronic life…

Used on Windows Surface Laptop 7 worked very well. It must be used on lower USB4 port, it seems it's the only port that supports power delivery.
