I purchased this because the litter box is in the laundry room and I wanted the cat to be able to get in and out, but not the dog. All of the other door props like this were ones that you would have to use two hands for or needed to take off to open the door and then reinstall when you were closing it. This is essentially just giving you an extension of your door frame. Very easy installation. I've had it installed for 3 months and have not had any issues with it - the door closes and opens perfectly, and you can change how wide the opening is depending on the size of the cat (or dog). Definitely worth the money.

We are using this to hold a closet door open for a litter box. It works well but wont stay open more than the solid plastic piece. You are able to make the gap larger by loosening some screws and making it the desired size and then tightening those screws again, which works for a day or two. We use the door often enough and forget about it needing to be open that the gap becomes as small as possible because of the door being closed too hard. Even on the smaller gap the cats have had no issues but I worry one could be getting bullied and not have an escape route. It works well but be aware that if you use it on a main door you might have similar issues of the gap becoming smaller with use!

I've used the door buddy adjustable straps before, but it wasn't going to work for what I need, so I decided to try this. It was a breeze to install and adjusts out or in pretty far. I needed something to keep my puppy from getting out of the room at night, but it also needed to be able to let the cats through, and to be something I could access from both sides. This fit the bill!! It works exactly as intended. My only issue is, because of the way I use it, my door stays open during the day and the prop sticks out pretty far. It would be easy to run into and break off as it's just plastic. I wish there were an option for it to fold up and out of the way when not in use. Overall this was the perfect solution for my needs!
