I have many Think Tank products, I’ve been using their bags and cases since 2013. Just got this one because the overall design looked good- especially the magnetic flip-down top with its clever compartments. But the bag exists mostly below the "neck" and in total is "boneless," especially if a long laptop is not inserted to provide backbone. The main storage area is unsupported– it has unstructured walls and a big 3-sided soft hatch. That main hatch is impossible to zip open with one hand or with any efficiency or ease with two hands, unless it’s packed super tight and stiff up to the gills. Not good for onsite work, especially run and gun.I’d seen listed the optional insert packs they were selling as accessories, so is that the only way to make the bag nearly as good as some of their other products? It doesn't look like it would be.So with its main lower body flaccid and smaller top firmly structured, setting the bag down vertically on a chair or floor makes it crumple over and even slide down flat to the floor unless seriously packed. It's floppy. That's not good.

I've been using this for the past few months and have developed a love hate relationship with this product.I love the quick to open magnetic flap, it is all that it is advertised to be. However when you do use that underlying compartment, it does tend to block access to the laptop and tablet sleeves. Most often one ends up taking everything out to access the sleeves. Wished there was some velcro when using it for camera and/or lens/accessories for dividers. Miss pen and other smaller pockets in this area. What point is it if the flap opens quickly, but now one has to open inner zipped pockets, then shuffle the contents around to get to a pen? Also, the inner flap pocket and the outer one tend to fight each other since they face each other in the same space. The top center handle tends to get sandwiched between the flap magnets. The outer zippers are hard to zip btw, especially the bottom one for the "main" pocket, often time requiring two hands. The straps here are also hard to use as the main latch cannot be operated with one hand (have ended up taking the straps out). Since the back is flexible, it tends to lean forward unless one has something inside to stiffen the over all pack. Makes it hard to place on the floor, especially since the bottom is not flat, one has to find a suitable vertical surface to lean on. Might be best to buy an inner bag just to get stiffness.Love the stylish, hidden, side pockets, and their accessibility but the amount that one can store is dependent on what one has in the bag. Fuller bag means less in the pockets and visa versa. I have lost a couple of water bottles from the open side pocket, too bad there isn't a loop or something. A stop gap is to use larger ones that have more friction but this will impact storage everywhere else. Appreciate the rain cover but this takes up a valuable scarce pocket for storage.
