I use MP3 players to listen to audiobooks. I saw this one and asked Amazon to review it.I have found that reviews can be all over the place and you have to wonder whether something is horrible or is it great. That’s what I thought when I read the reviews on this MP3 player. I really wanted to see how it did with audiobooks. The other features were not as important. I was pleasantly surprised by the results. Sure there are a few quirks but that is true of all MP3 players. You have to learn how they work. What I liked:1. For audiobooks I have found no better MP3 player, with or without Bluetooth. You can go back and forth between books. You listen to one book and when you want to go back to the another you can see where you ended that one. That by itself rates a 5 star for me.2. The memory you get is outstanding. You can store a lot of music, books and pictures with 128 GB.3. The sound quality of the player is pretty good. I compared it to the sound of my iPhone on my Bose noise cancelling headphones. They were comparable. The iPhone might be a tad better, but it was too close to call.4. The range of the Bluetooth is good. It is actually a little better than my iPhone. In a walled environment I could get reception up to 85 feet.5. The battery life is good. It is advertised as having 25 on a charge (depending of the usage). I found that is in the ballpark.6. The FM radio. I live in an area that doesn’t get good FM reception. This MP3 player did surprising well. It is better than any other MP3 player I have.7. It has playlists. It is necessary with this kind of memory. What I thought was so-so.1. The speaker. It is rather poor quality, and I generally wouldn’t use it for music. But it is ok if you are listening to an audiobook.2. The sound volume is just ok. In most situations it is good. But it doesn't go up a lot and it might be hard to hear in some environments. Of course this is a good thing in the sense that it protects your ears.3. The controls are ok. You have to learn them, but that is true of all MP3 players.4. The photo quality is good, but pretty small.5. The screen. It looks good now, but as it ages it will get scratched.6. I wish it could play videos, but that is probably asking too much.7. It doesn’t turn off automatically at the end of your songs.8. The battery indicator (the little battery) isn’t very good. However, the indicator telling you the percentage of charge left is pretty good. When it is 100% charged the little battery looks full. At 1/2 an hour of play the little battery looks like it has used 25% of the charge. At 5 hours of continuous play the little battery has stayed the same size but the percentage is down to 83%.. See photos. What I didn’t like:1. The headphones. The quality of sound isn’t very good. You could adjust it a little bit on the equalizer, but my recommendation is to put them away and get a good set of headphones.2. While the external speaker may be ok for audiobooks, in most circumstances you wouldn’t want to use it for music. They don’t compare to the iPhone speakers.3. I have not found a way of listening to my audiobook and then going back to the place I left on my songs. Again, this might be asking for too much or there is a way to do it that I haven’t found.4. The controls on the FM player. This is something I have found on all my MP3 players. This is my problem, not the MP3’s.
