Worx WX429L 4 Amp WORXSAW 4.5" Electric Compact Circular Saw

I do small house projects and had hard time cutting with circular saw, it was difficult to cut in straight line. But cutting with this one has been lot easier , good grip and control. I have used for plywood and 2x4's.because of its size it is very handy and easy to operate. I felt always scared to used circular saw but very comfortable with this.

This little saw runs great, is powerful and easy to use and adjust. Blade is very sharp and appears durable. I used to trim bottom of fence boards, this saw was perfect. It will never replace my circular saw, but works well for certain jobs. Handle requires a slightly different grip, but I got used to it quickly. I highly recommend and would buy again.

This a powerful tool in a compact size. I feel very comfortable using this and I’m new to tools.

Worx Worxsaw versus Rockwell Compact Circular SawI am a cabinet maker and am frequently asked to do maintenance and repairs on many 75 year old to 120 year old houses that cover my neighborhood. These homes tend to have many tiny places (closets and cabinets) I need to squeeze myself and my tools into to make repairs. A traditional 7.5 inch circular saw cuts speedily but is too unwieldy for such small spaces as these and a reciprocating saw is frequently too slow and too big.I received the Worx Worxsaw yesterday after spending several hours comparing it to the Rockwell 5 Amp Compact Circular Saw (at nearly twice the price depending on the vendor) which is made by the same Chinese manufacturer as the Worx. Despite all the rave reviews for both saws, I had hesitations about each of them. My concern was that the 4 Amp Worxsaw wouldn't be powerful enough for what I do and that the poor placement of the lock release button on the Rockwell and the Rockwell's 3 extra inches in length would make the saw uncomfortable to use in the cramped quarters I frequently find myself in.I opted for the Worxsaw. It came yesterday and I put it to use today in a tiny closet I needed to partially demolish.My concerns are gone. I love this thing. It cuts through a 2 by 4 effortlessly. It cut 1/2" plywood right along the straight edge I clamped to the board without creeping so alignment of the blade to the footplate is spot on. Depth adjustments are easy. It fits my hand like a tailored leather glove. The lock release is easy to reach and the hand position is genuinely comfortable. It small size makes it incredibly easy to maneuver even in very tight spaces. It even sounds good (you can hear the healthy whine of the gearing inside). The engineers coaxed the perfect amount of torque out of the motor when paired with the thin kerfed blade. Most importantly, the cut surfaces are clean enough for gluing if you need to do so provided you let the tool do its job without forcing it.I rarely review a tool online. This tool is a rare exception.To be fair, I have only had it for a day and have no idea how long it will last. Nevertheless it feels solid. It is not too heavy or too light for its size. I have noticed that Worx sells a similar tool in the UK with a laser attached. I wish I could have purchased that as it would be a help for the kind of work that I do.My recommendation is that you don't concern yourself with the power output in comparison to the Rockwell. This is a stellar tool.

I own the older version too. This is an amazing saw, lightweight, powerful and super easy to use. I purchased 1 for my dad and one for my brother for Xmas and they love it to.

Worx makes nice solid tools which I have a few of and have not been disappointed by any of them. I got this saw at a great price and it seems to be solid, well made, and cuts nicely, but there is one negative and that is the large size of the handle. Maybe they should have added a side handle to make it safer and easier to control. That said it still is a very useful tool and I would buy again.

Very light weight but powerful enough for small jobs. It's been working great and very easy to handle. I would like to have it cut just a little deeper for when I'm cutting 2x4s at an angle, but I'm overall very satisfied with it.

I work with 1/16” thin woods in my laser projects and find that the larger circular or jig saws tear up the wood when I am cutting out the individual squares to laser. I was leery that this compact saw would be better, but I was tired of having to manually cut out my pieces. The saw comes with a blade with 24 teeth, so I bought an additional blade with 40 teeth to do finer cuts. Since my wood is so thin, I use a work table that has two pieces of wood with a gap in the middle, anchor the wood, and cut down the middle through the gap. From the very first cut, this saw has worked perfectly - it cuts a straight cut with no chipping or tearing of the wood - either for rip or cross cuts. I love it. I also have used it to cut a 1x4 board - again worked perfectly. It is fairly light weight and easy to hold and work. So glad I found this one.
