This is a very good and responsive controller. I am using it through the ZHA integration in Home Assistant. I was trying to replace a ConBee II stick that I paid almost double for, and had become flakey with some of my devices. I initially set this up out of the box without flashing it with newer Z-stack firmware. It found most of my devices, but I wanted to change to zigbee channel to 25 for reasons of avoiding conflict with my wifi. Also, there were 2 SmartThings door sensors that weren't reporting temperature changes, and I thought it might be the firmware. Not having access to a Windows box, I chose to go the Python route on a Raspberry Pi that I had on my network for flashing the firmware. I was able to flash the latest firmware and reset up my network, but the problem with the door sensors persists, so I guess it wasn't firmware related. So, I ended up using the ConBee II stick with Phoscon integration for just those 2 sensors, and this controller for everything else, operating them on separate channels. It is not the ideal setup I was hoping for, but it is what it is until I can figure out the problem with this controller and the 2 sensors. Overall, I would recommend this controller if nothing else for the low price.

The Sonoff Zigbee 3.0 USB Dongle is well-built, and I love that it seamlessly integrated with my HomeAssistant. I passed it through to my VM on my Proxmox service and installed Zigbee2MQTT, which works better for some of my Aqara sensors. What frustrates me is how long it took me to choose a device like this! I've been using Home Assistant for over a year now and initially relied on SmartThings cloud integration. However, it became unreliable, causing consistent drops in connection for all my Zigbee devices. I only kept SmartThings for Alexa integration, but now I can start phasing it out. I successfully connected Home Assistant to Alexa through an AWS Lambda integration, and it flawlessly controls my devices without relying on the cloud. Everything is done locally. The last task on my to-do list is to get a Z-wave controller to migrate my Z-wave devices and officially remove the SmartThings integration from my Home Assistant.
