As others have mentioned, this display is a little different than the one from Apple: slightly thicker, slightly more difficult to open/close with the hinges (and possibly magnet?), and not quite as bright. However, considering the alternatives, this is an excellent option and the one I’d go for again. Saved nearly $200 from getting a used OEM monitor elsewhere, and probably a good $400-500 from getting it replaced directly through Apple. For those savings, I’m definitely more than willing to put up with a few minor differences.

Easy to install with ifixit tutorial. I did lose one screw but made it work. The driver set it came with was ok, but I ordered a separate one that came with a spudger and other gentle prying tools as well as specialized tweezers that proved invaluable. Screen does not appear to be dimmer than OEM. Paint does feel slightly rougher texture. It is not more difficult to open and the magnet seems the same as original. The only thing that I think may be off so far is the camera seems to be of a lesser quality/lower megapixel count. Still functional and so far I am very happy. To have apple replace the screen was $700-$800 dollar range. A local repair shop wanted $380 for labor and an original screen which I think is a good deal but this replacement screen cost me $220 and $10 for the tool kit. I have only had it one day but if it lasts it will be well worth it. Even if I have to buy another one in a couple years will still be cheaper than having apple replace it.

Replacement was perfect, everything lined up and it was easy to assemble. The screen itself looks perfect. However, you can tell that it isn't OEM (cause it isn't lol). The paint is a tad rougher than OEM paint. There's a more defined crease on Apple logo and it's a little more difficult to open. I'm guessing the magnetic aspect of the cover is stronger. The screen also seems a tad dimmer than normal, but for a replacement screen it gets the job done.UPDATE:After about two years the screen doesn’t work anymore (shown in picture)
