The quality of videos are outstanding. Easy to set up. You need to remove the plastic sticker on the front of the camera in order to read the QR on the app.

The Arlo 5S cameras are extremely difficult to set up and you lose 50% of the battery charge simply by installing them. Worse than that, the charge doesn't last very long. With previous Arlo Pro versions, you could remove the batteries, charge them, reinstall the batteries, & simply turn the cameras back on. With the 5S, if you remove the batteries or let the camera batteries go dead, you lose the programming, and have to reinstall each camera all over again. Arlo only provides one charging cable for three cameras, and it is a very slow trickle charge. I asked Arlo if you could put a continuous chargers on the cameras to keep them charged, and they replied "no, you're only supposed to charge them when the charge gets low." So how is a person supposed to use these cameras from a remote site if they can't reliably ensure that the batteries are charged? Absolute failure of requirements development and user performance acceptance testing to validate that the functionality is good for customer use. Netgear must've sold Arlo, and the new owners are just not very good!

I've just installed 6 of the 5S 2K cameras around our property and they work great. They pick up the Wifi at a great distance. The clarity is fantastic and all the different settings you can use on the camera is a plus.It'll be interesting to how long the battery charge last with the cameras. I've opted not to use a base station yet but we'll wait and see about going that route.Pairing the Cameras to my network was absolutely simple no problems whatsoever. Right now I have installed on one of the cameras the electrical cord that plugs into a wall receptacle to keep the battery charged. Time will tell if I purchase a few more of those AC adapter cables for other cameras.Highly recommend these Arlo 5S 2 K cameras.

I bought Arlo after being a long time nest and now google nest customer. I grew tired of the google nest delays when viewing feeds. Arlo has great reviews online and the camera quality and battery life are both very good. Getting to live feed is reasonably quick. Unfortunately, the feed shows one or two events out of a confirmed 10 to 12 events. In the day I bought it, the app announced many events but did not show any in the feed. After being on hold for 20 mins with their high value support center overseas, I’m told it’s a known issue. After 24 hours, the feed started working again and my support ticket closed. However. The problem persists. My phone shows an animal was seen in the camera am5n ago, but clicking the announcement goes to device. Click on the device and you see live video. Go to the feed and there is no mention of anything being seen for hours. I’ve stepped in front of the camera and yet nothing shows in the feed. How they offer monitoring on such an unreliable feed is beyond me. Until or unless they improve the backend server, I recommend you keep looking.

The view, detail, and clarity of the Arlo Pro 5S is amazing. It was super easy to set up and hit the ground running. Identifies people and animals. I only wish there was a way to have a picture-in-picture feed on my computer screen of what the camera sees live. I was able to do this with my old Nest camera and I loved it.
