MK808s has saved me thousands within my first use. bought San-Tool this yr 2023 no more getting ripped off by the dealership for things I can do myself. Even if you're not a DIY person you well at least be able to tell the dealership not only the codes but how to do the job, the dealerships take advantage of anyone who goes in for service with the check engine light on saying, I have no idea whats wrong, I bought this scanner after a good friend told me to stop trusting your service advisor at the dealership. He only tells you customers states, then he rips you off so he can make his commission . well those days are long over for me I've never worked on any type of emissions sys, well this scan- tool not only gave me the codes but allowed me to search right on the scanner helping to find the OEM parts I needed, that can be found right here on amazon and very easy to install for the most part. So easy yet the dealerships charges insane prices for the same thing one can do themselves . The dealerships never will tell you and surely would never show you just how easy some of these fixes are. you'll feel so good kwoing you not only found the fault but you were able to clean area before placing the new part in place, something the dealership would never do.. No more guessing what's wrong with any of my 5 vehicels ever again, once any dealership knows you're the type that keeps up with all the your required repairs and or maintenance they'll always seem to find problems even if it's only a routine oil change.. Note not all service advisor are dishonest people, a very well known dealerships service advisor in my town was the one who told me to get a very nice scanner and put a stop on being ripped off. So after months of doing my research I selected (Autel Scanner MaxiCOM MK808S) this scanner here is way more then i'll ever need, however what I love about this scanner is it's for the basic mechanic on to the very experience mechanic like myself, now I can do minor repairs or the more complex repairs, either way that'll be my choice and not the dealership anymore. Yes you only get one year of free updates for me it still wasn't any brainer this scanner is way better than matco and snap-on by far!!! My only Con is towards myself, when I asked myself what took me so damn long to stop being ripped off and getting a scanner that does so much that it pays for whatever spent just on the first. All I had to do was calculate the cost of parts over the cost of labor and this scan-tool gave me not just my money back but I also dont have the worry about the check engine light coming on, Plus my vehicle passed the state inspection that's still required here in Texas with no faults found. This scanner not only shows you the codes and faults but I personally never gave it a 2nd thought on how a emissions sys works and all the realted components, so not only did this scanner help me fix the problem, it educated me on how the emissions sys works. Great product, easy to use and understand. Helps with finding and clearing codes, able to run various tests. Great product for the money, only drawback is it keeps wanting to constantly update other than that I love this product.

Considered a scanner for several years. Problem is there are so many--dozens and dozens of different models, and some are very expensive. A friend with an Autel recommended the brand. Bought this in March 2023. I help take care of a number of vehicles for family and friends. Databases are easy to download via wifi and I have Jeep, Ford, Land Rover, and now Volvo. These are large files and there seems to be a lot of memory. Operating system is Android. Could have spent thousands, but the Maxicom MK808S does most anything I might need. There is Autel software to put on a computer that acts as an interface between the Autel and the home network. Easy to print reports after scanning. Oldest car worked on is a 2000 Range Rover. But a car that old has fewer systems to test. It did test ABS that has been firing when it should not. In contrast, there are many tests that can be run on a 2022 Jeep. Learned, however, that Jeep has protective software in newer cars that won't allow most scanners to reset codes, etc. Instead, Jeep requires hidden bypass connectors to be accessed in the dashboard and/or pay some sort of fee to an on-line service that will allow code resets. Haven't needed that yet. Car is under warranty and the goal is to know what's acting up before going to the dealer.As a home mechanic, I'm finding new tests to run and learning. Recently loaded Volvo to diagnose a friend's 2016 XC60 with a battery that goes dead from sitting. The Autel has a nice battery test program. First, it assessed the charging system with the car on. Then the Autel shut off the car and monitored battery drain with headlights on and heater fan running for four minutes. Screen instructions were very clear on this testing. Autel reported on screen that the battery is not only low, but failing.Surely the much more expensive units do more, but for a few hundred dollars this one has paid for itself already.

This thing is great, excellent value. This scanner has functions of many scanners twice the price. Excellent tool in my shop for troubleshooting and performing maintenance on all vehicles. Easy to use as well.
