I'm sure most people will buy this product mainly for the purpose of extending WiFi connectivity, and the ability to plug in a wired device, which it does very well! I found it incredibly useful for two older PC's I built specifically for retro PC gaming. One is a Windows 98 machine, and the other is Windows XP. Especially for my Win98 retro build, this product made it possible to get 30 year old vintage hardware working on my home network in minutes. We often forget that Wi Fi did not really exist in a well standardized form for pre-millenium PC's. Rather that waste tons of time trying to get modern wireless dongles or cards to work, this product makes it possible to bridge your existing WiFi network right up to the old computer, and provide an ethernet port for it to plug into. It has worked exceptionally well, for both the Win98 machine and the XP build. My retro-pc's gain network connectivity when needed, physically positioned right where I want them in my gaming room without having to add impossible ethernet cable runs thanks to this product.

I got a free repurposed computer that I set up in the spare bedroom. Since my router is in the living room this WiFi to ethernet adapter looked like a good solution for connecting that computer to my internet network. Despite the extremely easy set-up, my initial impression of this product wasn't good because while it did work I was getting slow internet speeds despite the WiFi signal being very strong. The fix was easy but didn't occur to me until after I wasted time with extensive troubleshooting even though it was actually the first or second thing that I should have tried. That's on me obviously but first set-up.I only needed to plug this into an outlet near my router, press the WPS switch on the router, then press the WPS switch on this adapter. In less than 30 seconds the indicator light showed that the adapter was connected to my network. Once connected I unplugged the adapter and moved it into the room where I needed to use it. In less than a minute the indicator showed that it was again connected to my network and I hooked the adapter up to my computer with an ethernet cable. I had internet.Unfortunately, the internet I had was slow. I tried streaming an Amazon Prime movie and it froze several times until Amazon switched to streaming in standard definition.To troubleshoot I tested the signal strength at the outlet where this WiFi to ethernet adapter was plugged in using an Android utility on my phone and the WiFi signal was very strong. I then experimented with connecting this to an extension cord instead of directly to the wall outlet and moving the adapter higher up to different shelves on either side of the computer desk but that made no difference because the problem wasn't with WiFi signal strength. I changed settings inside my router to prioritize the ethernet WiFi adapter. I temporarily moved the computer into the living room and connected it directly to my router to verify that the ethernet card wasn't bad. I finally decided the problem had to be the adapter so I gave this product a less-than-glowing review.Then a few days later I realized I'd missed one of the most obvious troubleshooting steps which was to power cycle my modem and router and low and behold the internet speed I was getting went from not being fast enough to stream anything in HD to fast enough to stream 8K video--the speed I was roughly the same as on my primary computer connected directly to the router via ethernet cable.The speed with this adapter has been stable and consistent in the three days since I did the power cycle so what had been a disappointing product suddenly gave me better internet speed than I ever expected before making the purchase.Unless something goes south in the near future (in which case I will update my review again) this appears to be an excellent option if you need WiFi internet on an ethernet-only device. Set-up is fast and easy via WPS (the manufacturer sent me an alternate non-WPS installation method but since power-cycling fixed my issue I didn't end up trying it). I can't say if this actually gets 1200Mbps because my internet service isn't that fast but I am getting roughly the same speed as on my devices directly connected to my modem via ethernet. If you do experience disappointing internet speeds after setting this up then try what I forgot to do and power-cycle your modem and router which is a simple process that takes just a few minutes.

Nowadays, it is hard to trust anything sold on internet, or any kind of techology because they are often unreliable or defective for poor quality or the fact that they are not like advertised. But for this Adapter, i only have great things to say about it!First thing i have to say, it is a little bit bigger then i expected, but it fit greatly at the end of a power bar, or at the bottom prawn of a plug.Secondly, This device works even beter then i would have imagined. You just plug it, click the WPS button on the device and the one on your router (wifi) and they are synced. Then just plug your device into it and it has full internet acces like it is fully Ethernet.It has great speed, it is reliable (it do not have any interruption or temporary disconnections) , it make the device that you connect to it think it is a completely wired connection. On that matter, it works perfectly with VPN. And you can switch device as you wish, and it instantly connects. (i had to switch from my business laptop to my work desktop rather quickly here and there because i forgot to plug it back in my work desktop in the morning)I bought this device for the sole purpose of connecting my work desktop for ''Work from home'' to internet since the desktop do not have wifi capabilities, and my office room is at the complete opposite of my modem (all the wired connections are in the living room downstairs). I was not gonna be using a 300 foot wire to get to my office room! (or whatever is a long way with stairs included means in foot) But since i got it and installed it, it worked perfectly.The computer and the VPN of the company do not see the difference and works like if connected directly to the Ethernet. and the connection is really fast. after doing speed test for the company, they where sure i was connected to Ethernet directly. So yeah, it is great for Work from home and VPN, or any other needs from slow wify connection for your device to no wifi capabilities. Hope that was helpfull. I definitely recommend this product!

I did not purchase this device as a WiFi extender, although that side of things works well. I purchased this device as the apartment we moved in to had WiFi, but not Ethernet (this is the 21st century, right?). Having setup this device, I was able to plug an Ethernet cable (supplied) in to it, then into a gigabit switch. Everything sprung to life without the need for further configuration. My one, WiFi-less computer now has Internet connectivity.A word of caution (not the fault of the product): Do not use the Edge browser for the initial configuration as the default security in Edge prevents it from connecting. I used Firefox, which did the trick.This product works well, is excellent value for money, and easy to setup. Highly recommended.
