We’ve been using Cuisinart Electric kettles for years and have found them reliable and overall quite satisfactory. What attracted me to this model is the ability to specify the water temperature. I wanted to have more control of the temperature at which I brew my coffee. This kettle works fine. I have no idea how it will hold up. Water heating is fine. Controls are overly fussy. It doesn’t just turn on and off, but stays warm, has a sleep mode and is more complicated than I need.. Why the temperature setting aren’t enough and they add the type of tea that temperature is best for seems like overkill. If we’re smart enough to know that a kettle that heats to different temperatures makes sense, don’t you think we’d know what temperature works for different types of teas? Besides, I mainly drink coffee. Base of unit is much lighter and less stable than past models. Kettle is heavier than our past ones. My wife doesn’t like it as much as the simpler older ones. I agree. Can’t these manufacturers leave well enough alone if they have a good product and only add really needed improvements, while not making the operation more complicated?

This water heater is not aesthetically pleasing but it is SO useful. The lower temperature setting is perfect for matcha. The fact that you can control the temperature is very convenient. In addition, I really like the “keep warm” setting that keeps the water at the temperature I want instead of me having to continually heat up the water heater. One con is that when you heat up the water heater, the outer layer gets very hot so you have to be careful to only touch the handle. Other than that, I love this water heater.

I love tea and have several kinds, so I really appreciate the ability to choose the water temperature based on the type of tea I'm drinking. There's also a setting for pour over coffee. It's simple to operate and has a "keep warm" setting. It looks nice on the counter and doesn't take up much space. Great value - I was astonished at how much other similar products cost.

This kettle beats all others, hands down, for longevity, ease of use, footprint, care & versatility. When I'm in a hurry and need warm or boiling water for a recipe, this is faster & more efficient than using the microwave or stove, or running water from the tap till it warms up. I can boil 2 kettles this faster than boiling it on the stove, and get more, and hotter, water for pour-over, french press for a big (20 oz) mug of instant coffee or tea faster than I can with a drip or Keurig.I love the ability to set the water temp, and the auto shut-off, as well as the Keep Warm feature, which is great when I'm cooking and need boiling water for recipes at different times, or when my morning & hubby's aren't in synch. He can heat water for his breakfast, and hit "Keep Warm" so it's ready for me when I come down to grab mine.We previously had hard water, which resulted in scale buildup in the kettle. I found that heating a bit of 2:1 vinegar:water once a week, then rinsing out, solved this easily. Once a week I wipe down the exterior, when cool, with the same wipes I use on my stainless steel appliances, and it looks fantastic. Be warned, it is a kettle, and the exterior will get very hot, and produce steam. So, only touch the handle after heating, keep out of reach of children & pets (includingvwhere they could reach & pullon the cord), and use a few inches from anything at risk of heat or steam damage - plastics, including canisters and press & stick decorative tiles/tile stickers, paper & cardboard packages, and don't set it under your cabinets while heating, as steam can cause damage & adhesive loosening, even on laminated cabinets. This is my 4th order of this model kettle. The first was killed, after 7 faithful years of use several times daily, by a whole-house power surge that occurred while it was heating, that fried several things in my house. I had the replacement for 5 years, using it 4-6x daily, replacing it with #3 after it mysteriously grew legs and found it's way to my daughter's college dorm, supporting the college caffeine ramen needs for her and a dozen of her friends. 10 years later, they're both still getting daily use, in her home & mine, and look & function like new. I ordered this one because I thought mine had finally worn out, as I couldn't get it to turn on from any of my kitchen outlets, but it turned out to be a bad circuit breaker, nit the kettle. I decided to to return it, because when you find something this great & reliable, it's worth having a spare, just in case it's ever changed or discontinued.

After forgetting to turn off a tea kettle twice I decided to try this. It seemed expensive but others spoke of its quality. I am very happy with my purchase. It is attractive, easy to fill, and keeps my water nice and hot. It will turn itself off so no worries of forgetting. I have used it regularly and would not hesitate to buy again.
