Wrapped swing in backyard without 4 strands of lights. It twinkled so pretty at sundown and will still be going in the early morning. I don't have a picture/video with them on bit you can see how they are wrapped.

After putting in place around our deck, they worked great. Now, a few days later only one string works. We checked connections, the switch, the angle of exposure to the sun (right next to the string that works). Nothing detected for "user error." Disappointed.

I am pleasantly surprised by how well these lights work! Are they the brightest outdoor lights, unfortunately no, but do they give just the right romantic cozy ambiance in my backyard, absolutely!!If you’re looking for lights that will actually help you see things in your backyard at night, such as people across your yard, be prepared to use a few strings cause one or two aren’t going to cut it. These are better for ambient lighting. I have them strung along my fence, in addition to twinkle lights in the trees.They are a soft yellow glow, reminiscent of the glow of a candle. You can put them on different settings, such as twinkling, which would look very cute in trees. I also like that they are wired in green so blends into trees well.I’ve had them up for a few weeks now in all kinds of crazy weather and they’re doing really well. Just make sure the solar panel is in good direct sunlight. Without that, they don’t charge too well/ hold a charge for long. If in good sunlight, you’ll have a full charge all night long! If my twinkle lights don’t make it, I’ll be purchasing more of these!

UPDATE: 4/30/24. Completely re-writing this review. My apologies to Manufacturer. Ends up, there is a very clear, plastic film over the solar charger part of these lights. After I missed my return window, I took another look at these lights, found the film, removed it - and eureka!! They work. Not only do they work, they often work regardless of cloud cover. We just finished 4 days of rain/clouds and every night when I go to bed - my little colorado spruce is lit up, well, like a Christmas tree. And it’s now April. They mad it thru a northern MN winter and early spring and are still going gangbusters. So glad I missed my return window. I’ll be putting up the 2nd set I bought.Really like the setup and price of these little lights. Their flashing modes are great. Ready the instructions and it says that you must turn the units ON to charge the solar battery. I turned the units ON and have them sitting in my south-facing picture window to charge. However, the lighting unit that is supposed to be like a Dusk to Dawn feature, does not turn the lighting mode to OFF. Need them to be OFF during the day!!

So I buy outdoor solar string lights every year--always from different manufacturers and usually based on whatever is the best deal running. It's very hit or miss with quality. Sometimes these little lights have actually lasted until the next Christmas, and sometimes they crap out within six months. Often the lighting mode seems to have a mind of its own, despite my efforts to choose the one I want. I never fret about it because they're 1) relatively cheap and 2) obviously mass-produced in China. They serve my purposes during the holidays and you usually get what you pay for. If they last into the New Year it's a bonus. BUT, I am leaving a review for this specific manufacturer because *so far* these have seemed to be better than average. These little guys stay on all night long. That, by itself, is way above average and worth my writing about. So take note. If you're trying to decide between which cheapo brands to buy, I've been pleased with these.
