Did not test very long distance as I just needed about 50', but I'm sure it would be no problem!Just make sure you have good cat6 ethernet cable (quality cable matters!)On my setup I added a passive POE injector using the included 5v 3a power supply so I don't have to connect a power adapter at the hub end. Make's it a lot cleaner.(Passive PoE Injector and PoE Splitter Kit with 5.5x2.1 mm DC Power Adaptor Connector for Network Digital Signal(1 Pair-White))But as I said I'm doing it for a short distance, so that's good for me. If you wanted to go the POE route for very long distance I would suggest injecting higher voltage (24v - 48v) (higher the better) so that the loss would not be as much. **But you will need to have an active POE splitter to step it down to 5v or you will fry the device. **Example power supply:COOLM AC DC 48V 3A Power Supply Adapter 144W Charger 48V3A Switching Power Transformers Interface 5.5 x 2.5mm Suitable for POE Routers Switches Control Systems Replacement 48V 2.5A 2Aexemple active splitter: DSLRKIT Active PoE Splitter Power Over Ethernet 48V to 5V 2.4A Compliant IEEE802.3af

Used this to connect a USB audio interface to a computer from across a meeting room. It was flawless. Plugged in one end to the PC, ran 75 feet of CAT6 through the ceiling, plugged in the other end at the audio rack, BOOM. Device registered immediately and the connection is as stable as if they were 6 feet apart. Only thing that would make this better is if it was USB 3.0 or higher, but if you're not doing massive data transfer over it, USB 2.0 does the job for things like audio that aren't data intensive.
