I purchased this product to run a couple of fans during power outages. On a whim, knowing that it has a pure sine wave inverter, I decided to try to see if it had the capability of running my modern side by side 24 cubic foot refrigerator (computerized with sophisticated electronics and panel), and it did! And it could run it for a few hours. That is incredible performance for such a small unit! While I do not recommend using this unit for this purpose due to short run time, the mere fact that it could be used in a pinch is comforting. Do please keep in mind though that modern refrigerators are very efficient; so don't expect this to run your work horse 30 year old Frigidaire! Energy efficiency requirements have come a long way, but longevity of the modern refrigerator has not!Way to go Ecoflow! Very pleased with this purchase! I intend to try other Ecoflow units in the future!

A real solid unit. Charges fast. Lots of outlets, and several different ways to charge it. From the wall, the car, or solar. We tested it by running a fairly good-sized fan on high and it powered it for 4 hours. I thought it would power it longer, but it's probably a high amp draw. I recommend the unit.

I give the River Max an *initial* 5-star review because - without really having used it yet - it does everything I want. After I've actually needed it, I'll update this review!I live on the Gulf Coast, where we usually have at least one power outage a year from hurricanes or storms. I have a 5kW gasoline generator (along with a xfer panel so it can power the inside outlets of my house). But fussing with the generator (especially if the power is just out for a few hours) is a pain, ESPECIALLY when you haven't had your morning coffee. (My wife has pictures of me turning on the generator JUST to power the coffee maker.) Enter the River Max. I wanted something that would (1) run the coffee maker in the morning; (2) power a few lights; and (3) run a fan at night if the power is still out (because I'm not running the gas generator all night long).After some initial testing, it does all three! (1) My coffee maker is somewhere around 1000-1200 watts. If you plug it in to the River Max without the xBoost function on, it won't work; the display says it tries to draw around 1100 watts and then signals overload. With the xBoost function, the coffee maker does work. The display says the River Max is sourcing right around 600 watts to the coffee maker. But wait...it requires 1200 watts, right? What's going on?I don't have a multimeter to verify the River Max display data, but my guess is that xBoost mode simply limits current draw so that the inverter doesn't get overloaded. In other words, it sources all the power it can, and the coffee maker just has to live with it. I wouldn't want to run the coffee maker all the time that way, but I can tell you that it worked (though it seemed a touch slower than normal) and my coffee was plenty hot. That's a serious win. Making one cup of coffee depleted the River Max from 100% to 85%.(2) I plugged in a 10ish watt CFL into the AC outlet and River said it would run for about 30 some hours. That's fine. We have battery powered lanterns, so whatever.(3) An old lasko table fan (no idea what the specs are on it) also worked fine. At full speed, River said it would run for 5-6 hours. But remember that running fans and other motors is hard on batteries because of the induction. (Look up power factor for motors - they draw more than they say they do, basically.) Still, 6 hours of fan time isn't bad. However, I ordered a 12V DC fan to use overnight (I'll update the review with runtime specs when it gets here.) In general, DC devices will run much longer than AC ones because inverters are pretty inefficient.FINALLY - in response to another review: yes, the River Max connects to the internet, and the app is pretty cool. However, contrary to what someone else wrote, you do NOT need to be connected for the device to run or to use the app!!!! There's a button (IOT reset) on the device, and if you press it, it'll let you connect directly to the device, no router needed. Thus, you can turn xBoost on and off in the middle of a camping trip.This takes me to my only complaint: the app is nice and well-designed. Still, there should be a button for you to turn xBoost on and off on the device directly. I shouldn't have to use an app just to make coffee. Still, this is the only portable battery pack I've found at its price point that can run a coffee maker. (Goal Zero, etc. can't do this!) It also charges insanely fast. In real life, once I got my generator going, I'd just recharge River from it so that it's ready to go in the evening.One other positive: they're really generous with cables!!! The River Max comes with: AC charging cord; solar cell charging cord; car charging power cord (you know, those cigarette lighter things); AND a USB-C to USB-C cord (for charging your phone); a DC to DC 15mm plug (or whatever it is); AND a USB-A to, well, some kind of Mac cable. it's dual-headed. One of them is a lightning connector, I think, and so I assume the other is another kind of Mac plug. (Obviously I use a PC.) Just go read about other brands, like Goal Zero, and you'll see they don't come with nearly that kind of cabling. For the price, huge win. So, tentatively, five stars. After our next hurricane, I'll let you know more....

This power generator is exactly all the power I need. I can't tell you anything on the high power usage. I haven't used any of the outlets yet. I charged my phone, thats it. I'll be using it when I travel. I'm not traveling in the meantime. But, for describing the unit. It's the perfect size. It's well built. Very easy to use. I will tell you this. The generator came/delivered by itself. The solar panel ships separately. I got the solar panel 3 days later. Yes, I did chat with a customer representative. when I didn't think I was getting the solar panel. Customer service was awesome. The rep. immediately told me what to do with the solar panel issue. I will re-reveiw the generator and the solar panel when the time comes. Oh yeah, I did get a sweet deal. Thank you, ecoflow.

My bf uses a cpap. This had the plug in and fully charged will run his cpap for 8 hours.We just went through Hurricane Milton. This worked wonderfully for him and is charging so nicely in the sun we're charging other devices through it as it charges.It doesn't weigh a lot.You do need to buy solar panels separately.Totally recommend! ❤️

First of all I love the charging speed. It takes just about an hour to charge when plugged into the wall. When hooked up to the solar panels it takes about 3 hours. When charging with the car and driving around sightseeing it took about 3-4 hours. Every time we charged it and used it for what we needed it for it worked. Lives up to what it says it will do. We have charged our phones, watches, lanterns, our batteries for our RC cars and even charged the battery for our friends pop up camper. It has made it through our camping trip so far and we have one day left it has served its purpose and has performed in 30 degree weather can’t wait for our next camping trip. We will be taking wherever we go camping it’s been a game changer. I love the quality, the weight not heavy at all can take anywhere. The performance for the size is beyond all of our expectations. It has lasted this camping trip for 7 days. I couldn’t be happier and for those days that we get bad monsoons and the power goes out we will be able to have light and be able to circulate air as it works well running a box fan. There really is nothing bad to say about this it everything I expected and more. The only thing that they should offer with this product is the charging cord for the solar panels as it has to be purchased separately. Other than that I am thoroughly impressed with this little generator.

So I've been researching solar generators for a couple years now, reading/watching about anything I can find & Ecoflow has been the front runner on almost every review I've seen. My main interest in these was for back up power in case of the "dreaded grid failure" here at home, plus I have a little camp out in the woods of Alabama, 600 miles away that I spend about 4 weeks a year at & when the power goes out there, it's DARK! I mainly just need to power my coffee maker, mini fridge, ice maker, microwave, a lamp & charge my tool batteries. I decided on purchasing the River 2 Max & I LOVE it! It's small, weighs under 15 pounds, has 4 AC outputs & 4 DC. When it arrived it was charged to 30%, I had it up to 100% in a little over 30 minutes. It also has the inverter built in, so no power brick to pack up & can also be charged by your vehicle or solar panel. For glamping, using around the backyard when you don't want to run an extension cord or have AC power in your vehicle, this thing is perfect. I do not have any regrets buying this unit, I would recommend it to anyone & it's very inexpensive for what you get, compared to what I've researched. It also ships quickly & Ecoflow's communication is outstanding before & after the sale. UPDATE: Of my three solar generators, this is still my go-to & favorite. It's been a great during power outages at home, keeping my internet, Wi-Fi & some lights on. I've taken it camping & I use it at my cabin when I don't want to run extension cords. My latest use, I've been providing music & public address system for my class reunions for 25 years. This past weekend was our 50th, yes I'm old. One of the biggest hassles is dealing with my 4 outlet, heavy duty extension cord. Besides hauling it, trying to avoid a trip hazard & trying to hide the big ugly thing, it's heavy & a pain to roll back up. This time I used my River 2 Max & it was a piece of cake. I had everything confined to one small area, powered my sound system & laptop for over 6 hours, with no unsightly cables. It also made set-up & packing out much easier & faster. It still had over 70% power left when I shut it down & bonus, it's about 5 lbs lighter than my extension cord. I also found the app very handy to keep an eye on the power usage. I have no doubts this unit will outlast me. Thank you Eco-Flow for your fine products, had I started with Eco-Flow, it would be the only brand I own.
