Having read the other reviews, and having many other solid Stellar products, this kettle seemed the perfect buy. But I now consider this product, dangerous.....not only does the handle get very hot, but there's also high risk off scalding when trying to remove the spout. Additionally the whistle is so loud, it gives me a nervous tension. Do not wasted your money on this alleged quality product! been a waste of money for me, Aldo it is stainless steel not beige.

I looked at every hob kettle and review I could find for weeks before ordering the Stellar Casstel. It's even better than I'd hoped. The whistle works (in an increasing crescendo), the lid is snug but not difficult to remove, the spout is positioned high enough for a full kettle to boil without overflow, the angle of the handle makes for comfortable lifting (but the instructions warn that it can get very hot). The overall design is beautifully proportioned and unfussy, enhanced by the brushed steel sheen. Pretty as well as functional, thank you Stellar.The box containing my kettle should have contained the instruction/maintenance leaflet but didn't, so I had to find these online. I also emailed the customer service and received a very prompt reply. Very satisfied customer here.

The kettle itself is good but the lid is faulty after 9 months use. The knob on the lid is plastic and has cracked. This lid fitting is tight and if the plastic knob breaks during use when the kettle is hot there is a safety issue.

Worth the money. Sturdy, well-made, good materials. Insulated handle works well. Whistle is very loud. I can hear it from upstairs or in the garden.I tend to fill it through the spout, and if I place the whistle on gently, I can remove it without the steam burning me. If the whistle is pushed on too tightly, you want to protect your hand as you remove it: but the insulated handle to the kettle is fine - hot but not painfully hot.Advantage over an electric kettle is that it won't break. Also, it is easier to wash and limescale has less opportunity to collect.Takes a bit longer to boil - but that does encourage you to only boil the water you need. Ours has developed a bit of a patina but I daresay you could keep it sparkling-shiny if you are that way inclined.
