I used this case for a day before it cracked. I accidentally knocked my phone off the bathroom sink and the impact cracked the case. Worst case ever. I have had cases under $20.00 hold up better. The screen protector I purchased also did not survive. I will never buy another Zag product again.

The Zagg Crystal Palace case is a substantial case. The sides are thick and the raised edges around the front of the phone and the camera lenses seem to provide adequate protection. Zagg claims that your phone is protected from drops as high as 13 feet. All this protection comes at a bit of a cost.First, the case itself is relatively heavy.Second, the thickness of the sides means that the camera control button is a bit more recessed than it would be when using a less substantial case, this makes the button more difficult to use. It works fine to activate the camera and to take a picture but attempting to use the features of this control that require subtle touch and pressure, in order to change various camera settings, prove to be very difficult to accomplish when your iPhone 16 is protected by this Zagg case.Third, the mag safe magnetic connection is fairly weak with the Zagg case. The phone will attach to a mag sage charger, but the familiar magnetic snap and grab are replaced by a weak attraction that makes it much more difficult to find the "sweet spot" when using a mag safe charger.Fourth, the case is expensive.On the positive side, this clear case is supposedly made with anti-yellowing technology that will ensure that it remains clear. I'll have to take their word for that, but until recently no companies made any claims about their clear cases remaining clear over time.Another issue with clear cases is that sometimes they don't offer a very secure grip. This Zagg case has textured areas on the sides to help enhance the grip. The texture is great, but from an aesthetic and tactile standpoint it seems to me that the texture should continue around the entire outside edge of the phone. Instead, the texture is present below the volume down button on one side and below the side button on the other side. I think it would have been great to have the texture on the buttons as well, but the Zagg designers apparently do not agree with my assessment.Other than the aforementioned issues with the camera control button, all the other buttons work just fine on this Zagg case.In summary, this case is a good choice if you're looking for military grade protection in a clear case and you're willing to put up with some of the issues inherent in a thicker, heavier case. The textured sides are a definite plus.Note that for about $5 more you can get this same Zagg case with the addition of a handy kickstand.
