I use filters almost all the time; UV filters at this point mainly for protection, as I hike about with heavy lenses that sometimes swing into rock faces, etc. I try to be careful, but over the years I've managed to scratch, and even crack, a number of filters—without any damage to the lenses—so, unless I'm working indoors, or on something where I need to get the last iota of image quality, filters stay on. The same multi coating that makes these filters work so great is also at work in our modern lenses, too. But I have set up tests with sunlight coming into the lens from an angle, and these newest 24 layer filters can still reduce internal reflections, etc.Until a very few years ago, I always used filters from 2 or 3 German manufacturers, and still appreciate their quality, both in terms of the ring machining and materials, and the optics. But then, I bought a lens that included a "bonus" flyer from a Chinese manufacturer that I'd never heard of, and I decided to test it against my older favorites. It trounced them!! Seems like there has been real advances in multi-coating technologies. To be fair, I assume that the older brands have also upped their nano-coating game; but I haven't bought any more recently than 7 or 8 years ago.Since that test, I've been buying filters from several of these newer companies, and, especially their upper tier products, really shine. This is my first NISI filter. It was not a "cheap" filter by any means, and it doesn't feel (in terms of quality of machining, and finish, on a brass ring) or act (in terms of cutting reflections and not causing unwanted tints, etc.). (However, if you price it against one of the European filters with similar qualities, it is such less expensive.)The one thing I can't comment on is this filter's durability, which is one of its main features—It's amazing to me that it can use a shatterproof glass (which to me means more than one layer of glass with a middle adhesive layer that keeps the glass from shattering) and still be as optically clear as it is.At first I was a bit put off by the silver color of the ring exterior (although the knurling is a very pretty pattern, and more visible because of the matte chrome finish)—but the front of the filter is black, and since I pretty much always have a hood on the lens I use this with, I don't get flashes of reflections that might create attention. So this has been a non-issue for me.If you're considering this filter, but are concerned of its provenance, I'd say, take a chance! You wont be disappointed.

I replaced a no-name, clear filter that I bought for my camera 12 years ago. This filter is phenomenal compared to what I had. This filter has a metal ring, whereas my old one was completely plastic. I have experience with only these 2 clear filters, so I don't have a lot of experience to do a proper review.I think it's worth it to use a clear filter to help protect the camera lens.

NO COLOR SHIFT ! as the lens is with no filter . i use it on my new 24-70 f 2.8 and it's perfect

Superior quality. Sturdy. Thin so there’s no vignette at wide angle shots. Does not cast a hue. More expensive than the rest but you get what you pay for.
