This is a great little mechanism as a low price. Unfortunately for me the threaded portion of the shaft was a bit longer than I needed, I am using it on an outdoor clock and evidently the heat would cause the cover glass (plastic) to flex and stop the mechanism. I removed the second hand - which wasn't needed anyway - and it now works perfectly.

Brand: "N/A"Quartz DIY Wall Clock Movement Mechanism Battery Powered Repair Parts Replacement Kit, Clock Mechanism2/5 Inch Maximum Dial Thickness,4/5 Inch Total Shaft LengthI used this N/A brand clock mechanism to replace Shontek DM 8810-1 in an old IKEA Skoj clock. It fitted my clock perfectly. Works well. I’d definitely recommend it to those seeking to replace the IKEA Skoj clock mechanism. Before I found this, I tried Amazon’s #1 Bestseller from Tikround. Unfortunately it did not fit this clock. So I returned it and purchased this mechanism. The item was packed in a plain, brown thin cardboard box (approx 2x2x6 inches) with no markings. Inside the box, there was the clock mechanism, a small clear plastic sleeve (sealed) containing the various parts - black rubber gasket, brass washer, brass hex nut, the hour, minute and second hands, and a piece of paper titled MANUAL with instructions in English on one side and in German on the reverse side. The instructions in English were clear and easy to follow. I was able to complete the assembly in about five minutes. The clock started ticking soon after I inserted the AA battery. It not as loud as the original mechanism (IMO, that is a plus). It is keeping time accurately so far. Will post again if there are problems in the future.
