I love that you can have it set to clean automatically after they use it, or you can have it in manual mode - I'm using that right now, so that my cats don't get scared by the cleaning after they use it. Once they get used to it, I'll switch to automatic. The sensors work perfectly and it doesn't clean if a cat is even sticking their head in it (my cat Tucker is very curious, and loves to watch the cleaning cycle lol). It's nice to know my kitties are safe. In terms of smell, as soon as the cleaning cycle is through, the smell is gone. The lights are all adjustable and can be turned off. You can set a delay on how soon it will clean after being used. It tracks your cat's weight and how long they're inside. The disposal bin comes with two big rolls of liners, and is a good size for multiple cats. The cleaning cycle is very quiet and efficient. All around, outstanding product - don't waste the extra $500 on the litter robot.
