I rarely write reviews, but I wish I would have known this: it is not the last book of the series. The prize is too high for the quality of content. It also feels like it is made unnecessarily complicated just for the problems to be solved suprisingly easily.I regret buying it!

First off, I absolutely love the Enchanted Vale and I really want to know how everything comes together in the end.But some minor points make this book not a perfect book, but a very good book.- It is a very long book and at times it feels like despite words being on the page, nothing happens.- Some really anticipated secrets were resolved rather anticlimatic and at some strange points in the story. Also some secrets are painfully obvious.- Rosie sometimes is really a brat and obviously perfect, because that word is used to describe her the most.- I really think you did Ez dirty. He could have easily been included on several occasions to different storylines, which would have been beneficial, because there are so many storylines. But alas, it is still a very good book and the story is compelling. The timeline in the beginning was much appreciated! It really helped to kind of get everything together once again. However the list of people should be at the end of the book.I LIVE for Keldarion and Caspian, that scene was just perfection! I can't wait to read the next book and am curious how the whole dynamic between Kel and Cas and Rosie plays out.

Oh wow, that’s one way to end a book, I guess! Do I dislike the ending? Absolutely! And yet, somehow, I really enjoyed this chaotic ride. Despite my mixed feelings about the conclusion, Broken by Daylight was highly entertaining, even if the writing sometimes tells more than it shows. This approach can be frustrating, especially when it comes to character development, which feels uneven at times.Take Ezryn, for example. One moment, he’s steadfast in his beliefs, and the next, he’s done a complete 180, acting like a totally different person. It’s a bit jarring and makes it hard to connect with him. I also wanted more of his chapters, yet there weren’t that many. Then there’s Farron, the so-called High Prince, who’s as naive as a child. He meets an evil entity, and instead of being cautious, he just trusts him? It’s no surprise that 80% of the crew’s problems are directly caused by Farron’s poor decision-making. Honestly, he’s a disaster waiting to happen. Now, onto the parts I genuinely loved. Day’s arc? Absolutely fantastic. He’s one of the few characters who truly grows throughout the story, and it really shows. His bond with Rosie—the way he always looks after her and protects her—is beautiful. Their relationship adds warmth to the story, and I also enjoyed their dynamic with Farron. Even though Farron’s decisions as a High Prince are questionable, I couldn’t deny that I loved him with Day and Rosie. And those unexpected scenes with Farron and another character? I didn’t see it coming, but I was all for it!The highlight for me? Kel, Cas, and Rosie in that one scene—absolutely everything. It was perfect from start to finish, and I need more of them!Caspian also stood out as a particularly well-developed character. His journey showed significant growth, making his chapters satisfying and engaging. His complexity added depth to the narrative and kept me thoroughly invested.Sure, there are a few plot holes, but honestly, I found myself overlooking them because, in the end, I was thoroughly entertained. That ending though? Let’s just say it left me eager for Book 5—I need to know what happens next!In conclusion, Broken by Daylight is a wild, sometimes frustrating, but ultimately enjoyable ride. It may have its flaws, but it’s also full of moments that kept me hooked. If you can look past the imperfections, you’re in for an entertaining read that’s hard to put down.Thank you to NetGalley and Harper Collins for the opportunity to read this book early!
