I've had the same body for probably about the last 20 years - tall, lanky but not really what you'd call "skinny". In fact, I'm kind of pear-shaped around the middle. I never considered skinny jeans before because of that. I've been wearing 505's for years, but have tried various other brands before that - nothing fit right. Pants sit naturally below the waist on me, and at my 36"-38" waist, the legs were always really baggy. I always looked like a wannabe gang member or something wearing jeans - even jeans that were very tight around the waist. But I tried a pair of these at a store and they fit perfectly! They sit naturally where pants want to sit on me, and there's no extra bagginess either in the legs or the butt. (I have no butt, so this is important.) With a 36" waist, they're cut so they do not look "skinny" with my legs, but they actually make me look thinner. And they look really good with boots. ("Boot cut" jeans look ridiculous with boots in my opinion; boots need a tapered leg, not a flared leg.) In other words, they just fit right!I bought a pair of the black stretch, which actually get somewhat loose after repeated wearings. I tried a pair of the rigid 511's in a store, and I'll buy them next to compare. In short, I'd recommend these not just for really skinny guys, but also for guys who have that middle-aged pear shape. At the larger waist sizes, the legs are roomy enough that they just look like regular jeans, and they don't look like you're wearing "dad jeans" like the regular fit stuff can.

Levi 511 Slim Fit Jeans, Size 33x34It is very difficult to find 33 waist, 34 inseam jeans in stores, let alone jeans that are cut in a fashionable way and affordable. Enter the Levi 511's. I have two pairs of Levi 514s, which are slim straight fit jeans. Although nice, the 514s are too baggy around the ankles in my humble opinion. The 511s looked like they would rectify this problem, and they do. Except they can be rather tight at the ankle which makes it more snug if you have big feet like me (Size US 12) and are trying to slip them through. The Midnight Oil color was hard to discern online, but in real life they are a very very very dark blue that is almost black. I liked this color because it came with a black leather patch at the back and dark grey stitching. The sizing is spot on, I always buy 1 or 2 sizes larger than my actual waist measurement because this gives me comfort room in the butt and groin area which is important for men.Overall: 5/5 stars. Great price, more modern style but definitely not ultra-tight "skinny jeans". If you desire a bit more room at the ankles, look at the 514s but the 511s are not ultra tight.UPDATE: 18 DEC 2014I bought another pair of the 511s, in 34x34. The pocket/hip area is tighter than the 514s, but the fit on the thighs and legs are much cleaner than the 514s. A friend had said the 514s looked like bootcut jeans. The newer 511s have 1% elastane or spandex, while the older 511s were 100% cotton.

Right after Christmas of 2013, i bought three pairs of these Levis jeans. At 40 dollars with free shipping and tons of Christmas gift cards to spare, i couldn't pass up the deal! The Colors i bought were, Rinsed playa, Black stretch, and Rigid grey. The first pair i received were the Rigid grey, and they looked and felt great! and my girlfriend loved the color on me. I have a shorter yet athletic built standing at slightly over 5'6'' and 145 pound, the 31x30 in Rigid grey fit very well, not even needing a belt. They were not too skinny, i am able to pull the material from my thighs and show that they are some what loosly fit, but not baggy!! They have some break at my ankles, but with shoes on its the exact look i want..slim fit, but not tight! The second pair i received, were the Rinsed playa. I like that the color is a mix between grey and blue. I like slightly darker colors, so not a big fan of traditional blue jeans. These were a great blue substitute for me! These jeans were slightly different from the Rigid grey, in that the material is slightly thinner it feels like, and the jeans them selves are slightly more loose all around...its not really a bad thing, as i still feel it provides the look i want, but if i could order them again, i may go with the 30x30 and not the 31x30 like the rigid grey. Overall i am still very satisfied with the particular color and the feel and fit of the Rinsed playa. The last color were the black stretch, these are slightly thicker than the other two colors, but its kinda nice. the 31x30 fit just as well as the rigid grey, so no surprises, and the black is very dark and nice. The black stretch seems more consistent with the rigid grey. So overall just very satisfied with the look, feel, and fit of these jeans. Yes the Rinsed playa is slightly thinner, and the black stretch is slightly thicker, but i still feel satisfied with the look and feel these jeans provide. I do not think that the slight change in feel, is enough to not buy these jeans! I am very pleased.
