GBVS is a great game, the visuals are amazing which comes to no surprise considering the developers behind this game are the people behind the Guilty Gear series and other fighters. Easy to pick up for beginners of fighting games and the RPG mode is good enough for anyone who likes Granblue Fantasy. The premium edition leaves plenty to be desired, for the price you don't get a season 1 pass. The artbook, sample soundtrack, box, and small Vyrn art w/ bonus code for color palettes & avatar background are OK at best for the price of $79.99.

I love this game and this is the second time I've bought it (I also bought the Hong Kong version a month a go), and even a month or so in, it's still a really fun game! The game is easy enough for true beginners to understand, but high level players can still enjoy it as well. The single player and co-op RPG mode are also fun - mechanically a lot more engaging than what you get out of a lot of other modern fighting games these days.My only gripe is that this edition doesn't include the Season 1 character pack. I would have preferred to pay a little more for the digital contents to include the Season 1 character pack, instead of the colors and avatars. The Hong Kong version I purchased had a pack that was both the game character pack, so this kind of stood out to me as a knock on the premium edition. Still, it's a great buy if you want the cool art book.

PROS:I love the Art book & CD included in this physical release of Gran Blue. Neither the game or it’s DLC seem to ever go on sale, so this is just a tad bit more than you would spend on the Digital version! Overall, Arc Systems (Guilty Gear / BlazBlue) deliver a pretty solid fighter with some truly amazing animations to back it up.CONS:Be warned, this does NOT include any real substantial DLC. Out of the box, there are only around 11 playable characters. 2 Character DLC Packs, several additional boards and cosmetic pack DLC are available on the PSN which must all be purchased separately and never seem to go on sale.

There's a a lot to love about this fighting game. The controls were designed so that you can use traditional fighting game motions or a simple button press for special moves, ideal for beginners but still handy even at high level play. Specials all have a cool down and each have their own "meter" for using enhanced versions independent of the super move gauge that would normally be used, meaning you have more opportunities to use the enhanced versions without being able to overuse them, and adding a bit of strategy since you have to decide if using the enhanced version is worth losing access to the move entirely for a few seconds. This also ties into the simple commands since using the traditional motions gives less cool down giving new players incentive to learn. Dodge and roll commands similar to King of Fighters, and just defense mechanics give you a lot of defensive options that reward skill. The game isn't full of complex combos and really rewards strong basic fundamental skills. The roster is small but offers a good variety of character archetypes with some being very unique to the others, and there have been several new characters added after release as paid DLC.Graphically, the game is gorgeous using 3D models that mimic a 2D look as the game plays like a traditional 2D fighter. The audio is excellent with very distinct sound effects and dual-audio voice acting, and a wonderful score that includes a lot of remixes from the mobile game this is based on. The general art direction and camera work during character intros, victory poses, and while performing flashy super animations is also beautiful and dynamic.Aside from traditional 1v1 fighting game play, there's also a beatem-up mode that can be fun when you play two player co-op versus regular characters or giant bosses. Unfortunately, stages without bosses are dull, and the loading times are sickeningly long making it feel laborious. This mode is also where you'll find the game's story, and is used for unlocking weapon skins and the final boss as a playable character. I enjoyed it, but I can see it being an issue for many people. The online play is serviceable, but could be better. Without the best possible connection between you and your opponent, you can experience a log of input lag that throws off the timing of your moves and combos. I have had some very good matches even with people on the other side of the globe when conditions are best, though. Please, don't use wifi. The content of the limited edition is really nice for collectors for the price, and the code that gives you bonuses in the mobile game for accomplishing things in this game is a nice bonus if you play both.Overall, I really enjoy and recommend the game.

Great game. This game definitely has a lot of polish and the animations are well-made to match the characters beautifully. The RPG mode mimics the style of GBF on mobile and will definitely keep the original fans of that game satisfied. The game's artwork is very beautiful also with several different pieces that complement the style of the game. Take a look thought the artbook, there are several great illustrations.Music is good, but not my personal favorite or much of my taste... but I can say it's composed well.If I can complain about one thing, it's the cost of the premium edition and that it doesn't include the season pass for characters or color pack. If the premium edition had this, the game would be nearly flawless. But at the end of the day, the game is excellent and I'd recommend to fighting game players and anime lovers all-around.
