I just received these lovely boots. If you have a low-foot-instep, this shoe is perfect for you. But I urge us high-instep women to find another beautiful boot that fits. They put stitches at the base of the tongue that can cut off foot circulation, cause bruises or worse. I will definitely return

these boots are great quality and I bought these after I fell in love with my mini doc martens (the kids ones with a zipper) which i had for two years and they still looked great just had problems with the zipper-had to replace- and the sole-they ripped. I was super excited about this pair of boots, though, because they seemed to be slightly taller and more of an adult look (which i wanted).Pros-sturdy solid shoes, they seem like they can last everyday wear wellthey are tall and warm, run big so you can wear a pair of warm socks in the winterThe pair i got is shiney, and they really look nice, don't really get ruined at all in the rain. They are waterproof and even when i walked in heavy rain, my feet were totally dry.Cons-the tongue NEVER stays in the middle, keeps moving to the side and try as i might, it ALWAYS goes back to the side. Also, the laces aren't super long and they don't last tied for long, when i take a walk, i have to either double/triple knot it, or retie it once or twice while walking. The laces are also pretty slippery and don't stay tied.Otherwise, pretty good shoes...

Firm and stiff at first, but once you break them in, they’re very comfortable!

It took me about a month to finally break these shoes in but they haven't treated me badly since. Thick and long socks made my life so much easier during this period, but I love how shiny and durable the shoe is. I have never owned a pair of Doc Martens previously and love the style and fit of the shoe. Due to its thick sole, it is a bit clunkier than you would expect, but I think it just adds to the fun.

I got these on a massive discount for a total of $54. Unbelievable. Claim this deal while you can- I stopped in DSW before ordering from Amazon and would’ve paid $160 tax for these.Anyway, I’ve always worked in restaurants/bars and Dr. Martens are the perfect boot for the work- good grip (arguably nonslip although not advertised as such) and sturdy shoes. No such thing as stubbed toes, easy to clean, and last for years. They always take a week or so to break in, mind you. Can be worn any season, and they’re aesthetically versatile. My only complaint is that the patent leather squeaks- I hope this fades as the squeak is rather annoying and loud. The standard leather does not squeak, but I favor the patent leather’s look as it’s a bit more feminine imo.Runs true to size- I am size 8 and size 8 fits just right. I’ve narrow feet and find the shoe hugs my foot comfortably- I wouldn’t recommend this boot for anyone with wide feet. I still have a little room so I can wear wool socks with these in the winter for added warmth. Still, I wouldn’t size down. Shoe fits nice with all types of socks.Excited to see the patina develop on the patent leather, as these seem more durable than the standard leather.
