First off, I love my Purple Pillow. I was extremely skeptical before buying, but I really wanted a good pillow for side sleeping and correcting my sleep posture.Texture / Neck Support:Softer and bouncier than a memory foam pillow, but firmer than a soft pillow. Best way to describe it is simply "bouncy".The side-sleeper Purple Pillow is more of a firm-ish, bouncy texture and has decent height so that it supports your neck when side-sleeping. I dislike firm pillows, but this is a good balance between supportive firmness yet still being squishy (thanks to the rubbery matrix) It doesn't sink into the bed or get deflated with use. I love the bounciness. However, its best if you're mainly a side-sleeper. Sometimes when I want to lay on my back, the pillow is too thick and makes my neck bend at a weird angle (obviously, since its not meant for back-sleeping)Cleaning: This thing unfortunately is REALLY hard to clean. Be careful to make sure it does not get mold! The material is cotton so mold will grow on it if you're in a humid and drafty room. You're only supposed to spot-clean, which isn't great for getting dirt or dust off, so I have to make sure my pillowcase is good. There's a removable center in the pillow which is like a normal pillow, but that part doesn't get dirty so no need to clean. I would not throw it in the wash because I'm afraid of the rubbery lattice ripping in the washer.Price: Horribly overpriced but its a really dang good pillow and there's not much on the market like it so.... its your call.

Honestly, the pillow is marvelous, but, Purple uses a material called hyper-elastic polymer, and it's a love it or hate it subject, so trying before buying is crucial! For me, I slept on this pillow less than a week, and knew I had to have a Purple mattress; it's that good! Extremely supportive, yet never too firm or too soft, and never painful. This material also sleeps very cool, and the hottest sleepers are never sweat drenched or tossing from hot spot to hot spot, my second reason for purchasing. The most important topic for pillows is comfort, and this one here is king! The pillow is well engineered, and 3" of hyper elastic polymer is what make's this pillow stand in a class of it's own! This material is the perfect blend of softness, support, breath-ability, and comfort, and you only find it in Purple.Underneath the 3" of hyper-elastic polymer is a cloth woven into the material. It seems out of place at first, until you realize how it helps the pillow stay in place, as well as help keep it's integrity. This pillow never needs to be flipped, or fluffed, and completely changes how you think about, or use, pillows. Oh, and it weighs 10 lbs. This seems like it would be completely unacceptable, but weight is hardly even noticed thanks to how this pillow revolutionized the whole world of pillows; no flipping, no fluffing, no hot spots.Adjust-ability is also great, as this pillow has two "boosters" that will effectively change the height or thickness. These boosters are made out of soft foam (polyurethane), with one being 1" thick, and the other being 0.5" thick. This is genius!Being able to adjust thickness and height for a perfect match to your body and mattress makes a massive difference! This allows a completely different and more typical material to be used for sleep, if you are a person that loves being able to mix things up in bed! Or a person that has very personalized preference, like me.From a $100 pillow, to a $1000 mattress, Purple has changed my world of sleep, and I will never sleep on anything but, given the chance. This company was born making orthopedic braces, so it's no wonder why Purple make a perfect pillow, and mattress! I sent their talalay latex version back, but this one's a keeper!

Got mine around 3 years ago now, when it was like a $100 dollars not closer to $250?? Was worth it for the hundo but probably not at this price. In either case, it's seriously the best pillow I've ever had. It's firm, feels nice, and for the most part stays cool (as cool as a unventalated material surrounded by fabrics can be) and it's great. Took it with me on every road trip I ever went on and kept it in my lap durring the rides and the weight feels pretty nice. The only cons really are that if your a large person like me, 5'11 with wide shoulders, then the included pads are kinda thin. And they move around annoyingly! But I just stitched mine together so that solved the problem and made it immensely enjoyable and not sometimes annoying becuase you have to pull and prod to get them back to center. Also, never had the smell issue everyone was talking about when it initially came out so I guess they solved that and you don't have to worry about that.If you've got the cash I say go for it! Just don't forget to stitch the pads together(seriously just do it)

This Is great for side sleeping. As I approach 40 I’m leaning that we don’t always wake up without aches and pains. A cheap pillow used to be fine. I like a firm pillow that doesn’t get hot, but also doesn’t make my ear fall asleep, and doesn’t hurt my neck if I happen to wake up on my back. This material handled it all. It feels soft, but… it’s not. Tough to describe. I tried “pillow cube” brand for a couple years, bought two different sizes, trying to get a good night’s sleep but found that their material was either too thick/hard, or too thin/soft. Purple saved the day. It’s firm - but doesn’t hurt. And it stays cool. It’s super expensive, but worth the money. I’m 5’5” and took out the thinner of the two bolsters, which for me is perfect. The weight of the pillow is great because it doesn’t shift around. If by chance I do happen to roll on my back, I’ve found that my neck doesn’t hurt because the material will “give” at the edge and be forgiving. Pillow cube didn’t do that. So as a picky pillow person I recommend taking the plunge and forking over the money. My cat likes it too, and I’m debating buying the thinner, cushion version for him to put next to me on the couch.
