Bought this for additional storage on my PS5 and I have had no issues whatsoever. Very pleased with the speed and the ease of installation and would highly recommend this drive to anyone looking to add on to their storage capacity.

The 8TB WD Black SN850X is just what you would expect from the SN850X series. TLC NAND flash and DRAM give optimal performance, especially good for random and sustained writes.It works well, uses an acceptable amount of power and the 8TB capacity is one of the few or only that is not using the E18 microcontroller (it uses a customized WD/Sandisk).Obviously an 8TB M.2 TLC SSD with DRAM has NAND flash chips on both sides, so consider that in your build. However, I have no problems with using only a single-sided cooling heatsink built into a computer.

My son built me a high end desktop computer for father's day years ago. We keep upgrading it and adding on as the technology and memory demands change. My regular hard drive with moving parts was one of the last things to change. It was still working but it was bound to fail sooner or later. We got this and installed. I've had it for about 3 months now and no issues at all. I hope it will last for years to come. I run Windows on a solid state 500 GB and everything goes on this. It has plenty of room on it and it won't break your budget.

Installed no issues. Speed is strong, although I have a 3.0 compatible motherboard the backwards compatibility allows it to still function.Will update review whenever I have issues with the drive. So far so good.Note: It did only have 1.81 gb free but I never found a drive that gives you the full amount of storage on it's title; so I don't really care.
