Bobbie Draper is my latest real time character, inspired by the Martian Marine of both the Expanse novels by James S.A. Corey and the TV series on Amazon Prime. I was first exposed to the hard science fiction world of the Expanse from the TV show and I quickly picked up the books afterwards. Bobbie Draper was by far my favorite character. I felt that the books described her as a physically powerful individual and I wanted to portray that. I wondered: how does Bobbie work out in her spare time? Perhaps she has carved out a spare corner of the Martian flagship where she spars, MMA style with her fellow off-duty marines. This seed of an idea sprouted into a new interpretation of Bobbie Draper that is a hybrid of the character in the TV show and the book series. I learned a ton while creating her, from the anatomy deep dive of her brawny physique to a new hairstyle I haven't done before - shoulder length and wavy. Hair textures and hair cards created with Hair Tool plugin for Blender. Modeled in ZBrush from scratch. Retopology and UV's in Blender, bake and textures in Substance Painter. Eyes are from the UE4 Content Example pack.
