I saw another reviewer had said she didn't know if she should bow or check RVD's pulse and I have to say, I agree with her! I was both smiling and shaking my head as I was reading The Unperfects as there were so many things to try to make sense of.Quinn and Chloe had an unconventional meeting to say the least, but the chemistry between them was immediate and palpable. Chloe is definitely dealing with a lot and I appreciated how RVD handled that and also the way she handled how Quinn dealt with it when he learned about it. They definitely have to deal with heavy things as a couple, but it's the humor sprinkled throughout the story that helps to balance the seriousness.I would be remiss if I didn't mention that there is a character that I loved to hate, which means that RVD did a fantastic job writing that particular character. Also, the appearances by several of our favorite people was icing on the cake for me. I loved having them be part of this story; they fit perfectly! This may have been a wild ride, but it was an enjoyable one for sure!

2.5 starsThis book is difficult for me to review. I’ve been a big fan of RVD for awhile now, but her last few books have been a bit off for me - this one included. Maybe I’m too old and her characters are too young. I just feel like a bunch of the writing is just a rambling of thoughts all at high speed. Word vomit. I could skim pages and not miss anything important.I read book one in this series and rated it four stars. That was a stretch for me. Quinn, the best friend from The Perfects, is the main character in this book. I really liked him in book one and was glad he was getting his story and happy ending. It’s a definite insta-love between Quinn and Chloe. Not a fan of that trope, though.I did like the chronic illness representation and how the author tried to adequately portray it.Sophie is a terrible person. Who does that to their twin sister? This is a relatively short book, under 250 pages, and it starts out at warp speed. Maybe if it was a bit longer, things could have been fleshed out more. The cover is beautiful!Thank you to the author for a #gifted copy of the book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I’m a long-time fan of Rachel’s writing, and I’ve read almost everything she’s written (except a Kindle Vella story and one on the Galatea app, but only because I’m a penny pincher and don’t care for the way those things work…nothing against RVD). But I have to be honest here. I wasn’t sure how I would ultimately feel about this book. It’s a standalone title; however, I think you’ll understand the hero better if you read The Perfects first.Rachel jumps into this story without much lead-in, so be ready for a wild ride from the outset. It’s also an insta-love trope, so if that’s not your thing, you probably won’t care for this one (it’s not my favorite either, but again, she’s a favorite author, so I always give her the benefit of the doubt). The pace is wicked fast, with some heavier topics such as consent and chronic illness thrown in.A lot was packed between the covers of the book, and I wish she had unpacked everything a little more thoroughly. I hate to say that because I adored Quinn in the first book and was one of the first to beg for him to get his own book. Unfortunately, this wasn’t my favorite story of hers. It felt rushed, and I sometimes felt like I had missed something, even upon rereading passages. We got a great, intriguing surface look at Quinn’s character in The Perfects, so I was hoping for more substance where he was concerned in this story. And Chloe was harder to connect with, as well. I was left wanting more from her, especially relating to her relationship with her twin.Despite these issues, this story also had some genuinely touching moments, so I can’t say I hated it. And the cameos by beloved characters were epic. Overall, it was entertaining, and, at the end of the day, that’s all I ask of my romance books, so in that aspect, RVD delivered once again.NICUnurse’s Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭑

RVD has done it again!!Another great story from RVD that is perfect for just anyone at any time.I love how easily Rachel weaved this story and kept the reader engaged the entire time. There is alot that is going, but it's written so perfectly that it doesn't feel overwhelming and it all flows just right.Rachel gave us characters that readers will love and maybe one or two that readers may love to hate, but then you know that she's written it well for that to happen.Chloe and Quinn were truly, just perfect.
