This book contains a wealth of knowledge and I am only beginning it. It was hard to come by but i got the revised edition and am so glad. Contains lots of footnotes and references and i plan to take my time absorbing all its information.

Went straight to the conclusion for the first read and it was rich...grateful to see the value of the Holy Spirit and His presence in the Christian life even in the early centuries of the church!

This book is amazing!The evidence from the scriptures and the early centuries of the Church that connect Charismatic gifts of the Holy Spirit is solid and compelling. It's great to see that for centuries, accompanying the Sacraments of Initiation, the Church experienced and expected the miraculous powers of the Holy Spirit in the lives of every Christian! A scholarly work and extremely quotable for research and further development.

Through tracing the role of the Holy Spirit in baptism in the Bible and early Church, the authors shed great light on the meaning of baptism and the role of charisms in the Church. Very insightful and comes with some practical suggestions at the end.
