Marfa - Dark Roast Black Yaupon - It's Texan, for Tea. Elegant and sophisticated, our traditional dark roast yaupon pays homage to the iconic West-Texas town of Marfa, where art & creativity converge. Naturally sweet and smooth, it's a perfect balance, hot or iced, and tastes like a black tea. Naturally Caffeinated - Relish the smooth and refreshing taste of herbal yaupon black tea, made from the only naturally caffeinated plant native to North America. That's right, tea made in the USA! Complex And Smoky - Enjoy the complex and smoky taste of this dark roast black yaupon tea, which is balanced by a clean finish without bitter astringency. Use 1.5 tsp of this caffeinated, herbal, loose leaf yaupon tea per 16 oz of hot water and steep for 2-7 minutes. Sustainable - CatSpring Yaupon produces high-quality yaupon black tea with nothing but sunshine and rainwater. Totally sustainable and free of pesticides, chemical fertilizers, and synthetic weed control measures. 100% organic and naturally certified. Regenerative certified. Kosher. Women-owned. People First - When you enjoy a cup of our yaupon tea, from our family to yours, you're experiencing the goodness of our community. Our yaupon harvest supports our People First Dignified Employment Initiative where we work with individuals who otherwise wouldn't have easy access to the traditional labor market.

This stuff has a wonderful roasted flavor. My only complaint is it doesn't match with spices like genuine tea. I love a nice cup of Indian Masala Chai. The dark roast Yaupon was not a good match for those spices. I might try it with a more mild roast in the future. For a plain cup of tea this has a nice flavor.

No more coffee, no more tea from far away; it's the Yaupon life for me (we just say holly tea at home now).I've been awake for a week trying to get through all of my coffee and tea now, just so when I do crash and burn, upon awakening I can get my hands on the HOLLY TEA. Just kidding. It's got gorgeous body, the maple flavor is legit a hint of maple, and you need half the sugar you normally would. The only thing that is going to take some time to get used to is the strange sensation in the back of your throat, do not drink coffee right after this tea, it'll taste too strange. It absolutely tastes like a midpoint between coffee and tea; the robustness of coffee and the back of the mouth feel of coffee with a front of the mouth feel of tea. There's a tingle during and after drinking the tea, and it feels like a 75 mg - 80 mg of caffeine tea. The caffeine hits you about 10 minutes after the cup is empty unless you're a really slow drinker. This is what we'll be growing with, love this stuff. Just beware the little tingle in the throat, and don't drink this if you're allergic to that family of plant species, do a little research.

I tried yaupon holly tea for the first time during a trip to Asheville. The restaurant promised the tea had more caffeine than coffee, and it was too early to be awake on my vacation. The tea was interesting. That particular tea was a green yaupon. When I got home I did some research and found an article on the NPR website about JennaDee and Abianne and their Cat Spring Tea. These ladies grow the holly in Texas with no pesticides or chemical fertilizers, so your tea is just tea.As for the tea itself, it is delicious. I get the medium roast and the taste is similar to black tea, but with a deep and complex flavor. It is delicious. Yaupon has no tannins, so you can't over-steep it. I brew my morning cup in an 16 oz ceramic travel mug, and one bag steeped for 6 minutes does the trick (I like strong tea). I look forward to this tea so much that I stopped hitting my alarm's snooze button.

My husband is a reader/researcher kind a guy. He read something about this Native American tea and couldn’t wait to try it for his perfect afternoon caffeine pick me up. My only negative comment about this tea is that he continues to talk to me about this product how it is the only “Tea” native to North America and about the low amount of caffeine in the tea which is great for an afternoon pick me up when you don’t want to drink a cup of coffee or have regular tea which doesn’t have as much caffeine as his Native American tea does blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah. He truly loves it and couldn’t be more happy I’m so glad the Amazon carries this product because it truly is tasty and delicious and I must say I’ve come around to really enjoying a cup of this brewed tea as well so do yourself a favor and jump on board with our native North American tea that we all can enjoy and say proudly it’s from our country USA USA all the way! Am I the only one picture and Sergeant slaughter chanting USA USA during the WWF wrestling match right now? I probably am but still you should buy because it’s delicious
