I’m now able to clean out my range bag of the 6 or so headsets. The new hearing protection hasn’t been to the range yet but we did take a pair my brother was given a few weekends ago, so we already know these bad boys are it. The only thing that’s not perfect is that you can’t discern direction. It’s the one and only reason for 4 stars. The 2 batteries, comes with 2 Duracell triple A batteries, are easy to install. Headphone adjustment is adjustable on either side and has plenty of adjustment. Sound is pretty good also, the built in mic picks up whispers translating into good clean sound. The set we tested at the range worked flawlessly at dampening discharges from a subcompact .45 S&W, 9mm Baretta & AR15 in close proximity switching seamlessly between the talk and dampen. I feel the price point doesn’t reflect the quality we experienced. I don’t believe you’ll find a better option to purchase.I wanted to add a little extra n this review and hope it’s ok to do as it’s about the second half of this purchase by the same company. While at the range we did talk about communication capabilities for these headsets. A short amazon search I found Walker’s Razor walkie talkie hands free communication. Right out the gate, they claim they work up to 3 miles. They don’t, not even close. The best I could get was 3/10ths of a mile, this is ok for us but if you’re looking for more you might want to look around. The great part of these comm’s, they plug into the mic jack built into the head set with an easy attachment at the top of the radio. Comm’s come with the 3 triple A Duracell batteries required to power this unit. 22 channels. 99 sub channels and has VOX, voice activation, instead of using the push to talk option that is conveniently located at the bottom of the left muff. It has a light up l.e.d screen which shows all functions, a channel selector and power button. Comm’s price in relation to quality is as good as the headset itself. If your looking for good hearing protection with the ability for comm’s Walker has it for a reasonable price.

Go this on sale for $40, and at this price it's great, but a full price I would probably look elsewhere.Brought this to a sporting event and had them on for 4hrs in 85 degree weather. It was comfortable and worked just as intended, and was less sweaty than expected. The amplifier works well, I could hear very distant, detail sounds and people talking. With the amplification off, it has great sound isolation and works great.Wind noise isn't great, the mic will pick up even a light breeze. As clear as the amplification is, it completely lacks any sense of directional awareness. You will hear small sounds but will have no ideas where it's is coming from which can be disorienting as first.
