I bought this mainly because my NEXT 1302 is too old and no longer updated. After uninstalling the old REALTEK drivers, installation of the new driver went quickly. PS: it's faster to scan the QR code using your phone and downloading the driver there, then plugging in your phone and moving the driver over to the computer than it is to squint at the tiny url in the packaging.Just remember that if you use this for BT functionality, install the bluetooth drivers and then restart, then re-pair your devices. The old pairing won't work anymore since the system is quering the older bluetooth device (That you got rid of). After it took me 5 minutes to realize this, I was happy.

I got a motherboard from a friend for the best price imaginable, but unfortunately I needed wifi and bluetooth on that system. I originally bought a TP-Link Nano USB wifi/bluetooth combo dongle, but the sometimes unreliable connection quality made me seek an alternative option. It also seemed to interfere with my mouse and keyboard that are also wireless and plugged in using USB 2.4GHz dongles. Since the radio on that one is inside the dongle, being plugged next to the others likely wasn't great for any of the devices.I took a look at this option and it looked like it would probably perform better. I read the reviews before purchasing and downloaded the driver before plugging the adapter into my computer. So far it has met my expectations. I have a more reliable connection that seems to connect faster upon computer startup than the Nano receiver did, and I don't get any drops or spikes at all anymore. I'm getting about 250 megabit up/down which is about what other wireless devices are getting the same distance away from the router, and better than what I got previously with the smaller adapter. With my experience thus far I'd definitely recommend spending a few extra bucks to get this over the smaller TP-Link, unless you really need it to fit in a tight space. If it suddenly dies or something I'll update the review.

This product works as it should and is certainly priced rightJust know that you will have to download proprietary drivers and install them for this unit to be recognized.Windows drivers do work with it.Fortunately, it is an easy process as both the manufacturer and model are in plain site so the driver was easy to find.

Once I installed the driver onto my tower the extender worked flawlessly. I see why it is returned a lot due the somewhat challenging process to install the driver. Without a stick drive I would have had to bring my computer back to my router and connect to the Ethernet cable to connect to the internet and install the driver. The process only took a few minutes, but most folks are used to plug and play... and this is not that simple!!! The range is amazing. I put my computer into my shop to allow me to order parts and I would guess I'm over 120 feet from my last extender in the house and about 200 feet from my router.
