This is very sturdy compared to the original plastic version. I was able to cut the plastic compression rings on the original hoses where they connect to the Y to remove the original plastic version. After cutting the rings the plastic Y was easy to remove as it was so weak it was almost crumbly. I re-used the two longer hoses with clamps on the new metal Y and got a new short piece of hose to replace the hose that goes from the Y to the water pump since it looked worn. I expect years of trouble free service from this Y connector.

Another great part by dorman. A lot of people give dorman a hard time for some reason. Not only have I never had a problem with any of their parts they consistently get me out of pinches that otherwise would have been expensive or impossible to fix. This not only fixes the leak it'll never happen again because it's not plastic that is suseptible to heat damage and shouldn't be on a coolant system in the first place. I dont often write reviews but dorman saved the day for me so many times over the years I had to. I also replaced the short piece of hose that goes to the water pump cause it was rough looking and costs $1.50 for a 6 in piece at the parts store
