I ordered this after receiving the Revlon volumizer dry brush. I was looking for a dry brush that would potentially put a bit of wave and movement in my hair. Let me start off my saying I am a professional hair sylist and. I know how to use these products. I know what to use in my hair to prep it to make sure my hair style stays. I am very familiar with the Hot tools brand an have had many other products that were satisfactory made by them.My first impression was "Is this fake. Is a joke? joke? The construction of this is very flimsy. Very week. I feel if it was dropped the handle would shatter. I feel it's like something I would find in the dollar store. It is not typical construction and quality of a normal Hot tools brand.I remained optimistic and tried it. It does get super hot which is a plus because it will eliminate heat damage. It was lightweight and easy to maneuver my medium length hair. You could not use this solely to dry your hair. You would need to pre dryer to 85-90% dry before use.The curl release button does help for when your hair tries to tangle. I really wish this had flexible bristles like a round brush so you could really work it to set a curl in but it doesn't so tangling is increased even with a bigger diameter.I have used it 3 times and each time the curl/wave stays for very little time. I can fit round brush my hair with a standard round brush and blow dryer and it stays all day. This doesn't even stay for 2 hours tops.I do have to say I spent time reading the reviews before I bought it and I saw tons of women saying they had gotten it tangled and stuck in their long hair and they were using the 3/4 inch. That diameter is way to small to use in longer than 4 inches of hair ( and that's pushing it) so if you choose to order you MUST order a bigger diameter for the length of hair or you most definitely will get it stuck.I ordered a 1 1/4 inch for a looser curl.I will definitely be returning because I can get a better result with lasting curl/wave with a round brush and blow dry

First of all present a better description as to the actual base of the brush size....is the 1" the circumferance or from side to side. My hair was way too short for the one inch as was the 1 1/2" sending both back and now ordering the 3/4". I am waiting for that to arrive. Also I had one yrs ago and the brush bristles were soft plastice and not the hard plastice that was on both of these. You need to be more explicit in describing these products since you have changed the item from yrs ago. Just frustrated in them not responding back to me when I first asked this ? They left it up to Amazon who also could not tell me.

I've used these types of hot air stylers for years, and they are really the only thing I've found that can style my short ultra-baby fine, curly hair. One drawback is the air-inflow at the end becomes clogged with dust/lint and causes the comb to heat up and shut off. I regularly clean it using a small dental brush and inserting it into the vents. Takes a little work but is worth it. Just be sure to UNPLUG the appliance before cleaning. Keeping the inner wire mesh clear will keep your comb working just fine.

I had one of these (different brand) since high school ( I’m almost 70 lol) I dropped it and it no longer worked . I panicked because I could not find one that was simple and simple to use . Then I ran across this . It worked perfectly and does my hair wonderfully . Good product … would order again ( if I live long enough) but I think this is going to last like my old one!

I've been using these hair styling tools for over 20 years! It used to be manufactured by Helen of Troy and I bought them from Sally Beauty Supply stores. Now, it is called "Hot Tools" and is sold through the Helen of Troy company in Texas. It has always been the same tool with some minor changes here and there. FIRST, you need to know it is NOT A HAIR DRYER! It is a hot air "styling tool". You can use it on your dry hair, or you can wash your hair and dry it with a dryer, leaving it damp, then use this styling tool. I buy the 1-1/2 " size because I want a more relaxed curl. My hair is very straight, thick, and finely textured. This tool makes it so easy for me to get ready in the mornings. I just grab a chunk of hair and count to 15 or more and release. I've never had it tangle my hair! I probably use it on 6 or 8 sections of my hair while counting to 15, each time and I'm done! Doesn't get much easier than that! The tool lasts a long time, 3 or 4 years, with daily use. You DO need to keep lint out of the air intake area at the end of the tool. I occasionally use a straight pin, with the tool off and unplugged, to gently lift out any lint that might collect there. It probably works best for short to medium hair. I've used it for both. I also used it on the ends of hair when I had long hair. You just can't wind your long hair around it. I highly recommend this great styling tool!
