The factory set up for this vacuum is in Mandarin, the same with the manual. English version is available in xiaomi website, but cannot print or download. Initially I had a hard time connecting the vacuum with my phone. Found out through Reddit that switching server to Singapore solved the problem. Vacuum works wonderful in general, pick up dog hair. I have a U shape house and the vacuum moves between adjacent rooms instead of finishing one room then go to the next room. Not sure why. Another minor issue is that it didn't go under my bed because it detected bed skirt as a wall. But overall, i am happy with this vacuum. Great value for the price, especially comparing to the high end product from Roomba

Was looking to upgrade from Deebot N79S to a mapping botvac and tried this Xiaomi Mi for a week. The laser mapping capability is seductive and yields great maps, but the botvac performance left much to be desired. It has a small trash bin and despite claim of long battery life (which I did not observe, lasted an hour) and ability to return to charging base to clean large floors, it would have to be emptied several times to accomplish this. I did not have the opportunity to test this as the vacuum was not effective at cleaning floors, especially carpets. Also, did not reliably return to charger. Least desirable feature was that it frequently got stuck on rug tassels. My wife and daughter claimed that it was excessively aggressive, "biting their toes". We have Deebot N79S's and tried the Neato Botvac Connected which do not suffer the same complaint.

I purchased "Xiaomi Mi Smart Automated Robot Vacuum Cleaner 1st Generation" product from iClik via amazon.com. When I was configuring the product with "Mi Home" app, every time I got an error as "Connect your phone to roborock-vacuum_xxx and return to Mi Home app". The product installation booklet does not have any instruction or troubleshooting guide with Mi Home app. As per Xiaomi customer support, this product is not yet released in USA and they have very limited knowledge on this product. I reached out to Xiaomi global customer support, but no response from them. Not worth to spend time and money on such products which are difficult to configure. It's mandatory to give at least 1 star on website otherwise I would have given this product as 0 star.

In my opinion this is the best robovac on the market. The Xiaomi Mi Smart Robot Vacuum is way above everyone else. This vacuum is made by Roborock. The Mi Robot Vacuum features an app that fully maps a room, lets you set boundaries, allows you to set schedules, and many other options. My favorite part about this vacuum is that it fully maps a room. It easily navigates around objects and will fully and efficiently clean rooms. I use this on my main floor that has a mix of carpet and hardwood floors. This vacuum does an excellent job at cleaning on both floor types. In my opinion you get what you pay for and I would take this over the cheap robovacs any day. The seller was great also! They sent me setup instructions via email once I ordered the product! I have considered ordering another one for my upstairs.

We love this little vacuum! Had originally purchased a Roomba 690 for about the same price at our local Best Buy store. Returned it after a week due to it's lack of navigation and ping-pong cleaning style. It also had trouble finding the dock and the battery would die while searching for it. Since we've switched to the Xiaomi vacuum, we have not experienced any of the issues we had with the Roomba. The fit and finish of the Xiaomi is much better as well. As soon as I took it out of the box, I could tell it was a premium product. It actually employs logic and scanning into it's cleaning routine. While it does bump things ocassionally, it does it softly, as if it knows there's something nearby. It finds it's dock every single time and the battery last long enough to clean our 800sq-ft apartment three times before actually requiring a charge. I would purchase it again and recommend it to anyone who wants to save time in their weekly chores. If I could list one con, it's the main brush. About once a cleaning cycle the vacuum will pause and alert us to clean the main brush. It's usually rolled up quite a bit of long hair and senses when it's having trouble spinning. Otherwise it's a solid little vacuum.
