I was looking to downsize from my 5.1 system with big tower speakers and wires running to the surround speakers. The remote is a little wonky and the app is slow but the sound is awesome! Love the 2 hdmi inputs and its very sleek. The sound is by far the best thing about this sound bar. The bass is good, you'll have to turn it down to get life like dialogue. Surround speakers are small and easy to mount. One necessity for me was a wifi woofer that I could place at the back of the room. The surround speakers connect to the sub which meant no wires running across floors or up walls.I watched Transformers Beasts and found this to be a really movie like sound experience. Plenty of volume, crisp sound and the surrounds are sent signal often so you really feel the surround. Only thing missing is an auto setup program, then the wonky remote wouldn't be much of an issue. Highly recommend if you want great sound without all the speakers and wires of a 5.1 or 7.1 system.

I am absolutely impressed with the excellent sound and functions of this Elevate system - my expectations for the Dolby Atmos playback are far exceeded as I was worried that it may not work properly passing the audio through a $300 65 inch Onn 4k TV - however it works flawlessly and automatically with the Dolby Atmos content being streamed on Apple TV, Netflix and Prime Video so far. The remote functions took a little while to understand but they are in fact very simple to use. I really could not be more pleased even with just surround sound broadcasts especially NFL games that sound like you are in a stadium seat - it’s that good. The only negative I encountered was the insufficient length of speaker cord that connects the rear speakers - you have to have a good place for the subwoofer which will allow you reach both sides of the rear of a room - in my case I was way short on having enough length for the right rear speaker because I wanted the subwoofer up front next to the TV table - I purchased the Sanus speaker stands to place behind the couch on one side and behind a theater style double seat on the right rear side - no luck - I am an old speaker wire splicer so I had to decide to cut the very small diameter cord and splice in about 25 more feet of wire which I did and after achieving this the whole setup looked like something in a college dorm room - awful because I used wire clips to run up the left wall across the ceiling and down to the right rear speaker on the opposite wall - it detracted from the whole look of the room so I took it all down after less than a day of wasting my time splicing and taping etc - the end result is that I am not able to use the new surround speakers and stands and was fortunate to have 2 Onkyo surround speakers from a previous AVR setup still mounted up high on the rear ceiling so I spliced into those which eliminated the Vizio speaker wire problem altogether and honestly the Vizio rears are probably not as good as the Onkyos - now I have a near perfect setup that sounds fantastic and I feel good about this purchase again - I highly recommend buying it - just have a backup plan for the rear surrounds because the wires may not reach - and the included wires are nothing more than very thin RCA wires and RCA plugs that connect to the subwoofer - if they were wireless this system could not be beat on how great it sounds

Pros:The looks: the Soundbar looks fantastic and sleek. The subwoofer is wireless, which helps with the aesthetic aspect. The surround speakers also look great, specially when installed on the wall.Audio: obviously the audio is the main thing, i'm not a audiophile but I am totally satisfied with the product, it works exactly as I expected when I bought it. The subwoofer is powerful, the Soundbar has clean fantastic sound, even when I turn it down I don't miss anything. The surround speakers really do the job, it does a great job for immersion, for both movies and games.Note: The audio is very dependent on the source, if the source of the audio is not surround, 5.1, dolby atmos etc, don't expect this to work wonders.Note#2: I did some research and everywhere I looked they recommended using HDMI ARC/EARC to get the best out of this soundbar. Smart TVs Samsung/LG and many others have ARC/EARC, which has the most bandwidth so look for the HDMI ports on your TV, you should really use this connection.Physical setup: this is really quite easy, everything you need is in the box, a small book detailing all the physical setup comes in the box. You only need the screwdrivers, if you plan on wall mounting anything, you will need the wall anchors and screws that fit to your wall. But the wall mounting supports are included for the soundbar and the small surround speakers.Accesories: as I said (almost)everything your need is in the box. I especially appreciate that they include a high bandwidth HDMI cable that works with ARC/EARC with zero problems.Cons:Upward firing speakers: these speakers don't really do the job, they work by "bouncing" the sound to your ceiling, which depending on the material might actually absorb the sound. They totally rely on the content being played, not much content will have any use for these speakers so I wouldn't expect much sound really that comes from above.Audio setup: this is apart from the physical setup, this is the configuration that you have to do on your TV and soundbar to get them to work. This is not plug and play, you have to go through all the options on both the sound bar and your TV.A manual comes in the box, but it is really really unclear, as to all the setup options. A QR code comes that should send you to a web page that explains everything, said web page is nothing of the sort, it links to the product page that lists the product features, basically the same as the amazon product page.As I said before I'm not an audiophile, and this was the first soundbar I have ever purchased, so it took a couple(5) of youtube tutorials to get this working like I needed it to. Even after the youtube tutorials, the final piece of the puzzle had to come from Vizio's own support, my rear surround speakers were not working as expected, I went into a chat with support and they did pinpoint my issue in about 3-4 questions, I had to choose a 2 specific options on my TV to get them working.I will give recognition to Vizio chat support, or at least my agent, they really knew what to ask to get straight to the issue.I'm giving 5 stars because evertything works just like I expected, the immersion is fantastic, and I have even got a few praises for this setup.

This is the top of the line Vizio P-Series and wow does the sound impress! Buy it on sale ($699) and it's a steal!I used to be skeptical of Vizio, thought they were cheap and quality not as good as the big boys but ended up buying a couple SB3251N-E0 few years back and they both sounded great, lasted 4yrs and still going. Time to upgrade and was deciding between this Vizio and the Sonos Beam Gen2 or Arc. The Sonos sounds great, no doubt, but having to buy a sub and 2 surround speakers really increases the price ($2400 total for the Arc sub, surrounds) and I couldn't justify it for my small home theater room with 85" Sony X90H TV.However, once the Vizio went on sale, I couldn't resist, had to try it out. I did A LOT of research and some sites (rtings, CNET, some YT videos and others) all said this Vizio Elevate sounded better than the Arc. Not sure about that but reassuring to hear at least. Pulled the trigger, hooked it up, demoed it for a week now and could not be happier. The soundbar itself is very clean looking and sound crisp and clear. As others have mentioned, this system out the box is a little bass heavy (even for me, and I love bass!) so fine tuning in the settings to your liking and reduce the bass down. The sub is HUGE too btw. Surrounds also crisp and clear. The rotating side speakers on the soundbar when ATMOS is detected is really cool and practical also. Definitely looks, feels and sounds very high end. Runs circles around my previous best 5yr old Samsung 5.1 Theater in a box system. I also like the remote which has plenty of adjustments to fine tune and screen lights up which is great when in a dark room (The Sonos does not include a remote either) .One caution is this is second soundbar I've ordered off Amazon and both boxes arrived pretty beat up. The delivery drivers really should take a little more care with electronics, especially when it's printed on the outside of the box what it is.To me, this is a steal below $700. Even at $999 it's a good deal. The value prop here is insane and the sound is LOUD, clear and extremely good! IMO, Why pay $1k -$1500 more for Sonos, Samsung or Sony top of the line for similar sound quality?

There is an HDMI in on there. It is orange in color.Jodi (2/6/2023, 2:05:38 PM): I also have an Atmos bar, and that works very well for me.Me (2/6/2023, 2:06:37 PM): I will try that.Extremely disappointed in the sound bar. One would think for the price it would work.Jodi (2/6/2023, 2:07:06 PM): I do apologize. It's all base off the source device, so the Soundbar will play Atmos, as long as the source supports it.Me (2/6/2023, 2:07:21 PM): is an Atmos bar better than this oneJodi (2/6/2023, 2:08:14 PM): This bar is an Atmos unit. It will give you great audio, even for non Atmos content. I use mine for music & everything.Me (2/6/2023, 2:09:28 PM): Does it attach to the bar or is it all by itselfJodi (2/6/2023, 2:10:21 PM): If you use the Roku, it will connect to the Soundbar & the Soundbar connects to the TV.Me (2/6/2023, 2:12:12 PM): I will redirect my Roku and try it that way. Thank you

Edit 2/1/21: I was able to figure out to turn off the audible voice that was calling out which input selection you were making each time you changed it. Pressing and holding down the mute button on the remote disables both the audible voice and it also turns off the small power light on the soundbar (the light still comes on when you switch inputs or make volume changes).Original review: So far so good. I am a diehard Bose guy and reluctantly downsized my home entertainment setup to reduce clutter in our media center. We previously were rocking a pieced together 3.1 AV setup, 1 Bose center channel, LH and RH bose 301 Bookshelf speakers and a Yahama 10” sub powered by a newer Denon AVR. The vizio Elevate simplifies the whole setup with a very cleanly designed central soundbar and wireless subwoofer. We don’t currently have room to run the rear satellite speakers that come with it, so we are just using the soundbar and sub.1st things first....everyone in here complains about the setup process. I had mine setup just fine using the SmartCast app. Not connectivity issues (I am on gigabit wifi), if I have one complaint it’s that the app doesn’t explain what some of the sound settings do (a little help rollover caption would help). The sound is a 90/100. The dialogue is crystal clear, even better than the Bose provided. Mid level treble is a little flat or “canned”, it is lacking a little depth, this would probably get better if I was running the rear satellites. One thing to note is this soundbar makes you much more aware of how different movies or shows are audio mixed. Some shows have their levels subtly different and this soundbar will highlight that. Anything Atmos is fantastic!!! The outer sections of the soundbar rotate up and the coverage is incredible. If only everything could be Atmos mixed!! The subwoofer is incredibly powerful, I find myself having to adjust it down to a safer level for most TV watching.CEC auto input switching is a bit of a ghost in the machine. For some reason, regardless of which hdmi input we plug our Apple TV into, the soundbar always seems to default to the Apple TV as the first input to watch when you turn the TV on. Additionally, switching inputs the soundbar has this annoying voice that will announce what input you’re switching to. It’s a nice feature but there’s no way to turn the voice down, it’s annoyingly loud. All in all I am very happy with this purchase. Crisp clear dialogue is the most important thing for me when watching any movie or show and this thing delivers in every way for that metric. Great surround sound, extremely powerful sub, mid level treble really wants to be cranked up volume wise, otherwise it feels a little flat. I am happy with this purchase! Interfaced well with my Vizio 75” Quantum X TV.

Okay.....so as I usually do, I spent days researching and doing my due diligence to find a surround sound system to upgrade from my older Samsung surround system. I'm a tech nut, and won't purchase anything without doing much research. So after all was said and done, I landed on this Vizio M-Series Elevate. And I couldn't be happier if I tried! The system speakers paired almost instantly, and I recommend setting up the rear speakers and subwoofer first......getting them hooked up and powered up before finally getting to the sound bar and TV. Within just a minute or two the entire system was up and running. Then its just a matter of learning the remote and how you like your particular sound set up.The elevate speakers on the sides of the sound bar are absolutely fantastic! Yes.....they light up for an added effect, and that just kind of tops things off. Although I'm not looking for a lighting system, this is just as added bonus. I was leery of the 8" subwoofer, since my Samsung had a 12 inch woofer, and its a down-firing speaker also, and I was concerned about that as well. But fear not, for you folks who might be thinking the same thing. My test movie was one of the new Star Trek movies.....knowing that would have all the sounds and effects to make for a proper test. I thought I was in an IMAX theater!! And I'm not exaggerating either. I want to offer as truthful a review as I can......that was not the only movie I used for a test and everything that followed was just as thrilling. As for regular TV programming, it changes the game entirely. My regular TV shows take in a whole new meaning! The "Dialogue" feature on the remote actually does what it says it does, and brings up the dialogue for not only regular TV shows, but also in movies as well. I played a Transformers movie, and at one point the dialogue was harder to hear and bringing that up definitely helped. If I had one point I don't actually care for, and of course it just my opinion.....but the sound bar as very bright LED's that indicate levels up and down. So if you're increasing say, volume or decreasing speaker volume in the back or front, it indicates using these bright LED's, and I suppose my preference would be the old way using numbers to denote higher and lower, or up and down. Although while I say that.....I've already gotten used to the bright LED's and finding I'm liking them.Lastly.....though I could go on and on, the remote programming is relatively easy to learn. I went online, or had to since it only came with a quick set-up guide. But even using that, I found that it was quite easy to learn the various functions offered through the remote. And there are quite a few thing it'll do, but once I had the overall setup the way I wanted it for movies and regular TV, there's really nothing else to do. I'll change a few things here and there depending on what I'm watching, but once its set, its pretty much set and that's a huge plus for me! I highly recommend this product.....it has all the features I wanted and then some. And the price was right in the range I had set for myself, and I have zero complaints on the price, especially for the value I'm getting! I've also purchased stands for my rear speakers. I always had my others on a credenza behind our couch just sitting there. These speakers deserve to have stands, and I have no doubt it will increase my listening pleasure. Oh yeah.....by the way for you ladies out there. My wife of course loves the new system, but her first complaint was the fabric covering the sound bar and speakers. While they look really great and fancy with the fabric.....she said I'll have a tough time dusting them when it comes time to dust!! That's okay though since I do most of the dusting anyway! HAH!

Very pleased with this purchase, especially at the price. Great value for this quality.Replaced my Onkyo 7.1 channel receiver with this (it died after a good 10 yr run). What a difference!! Sound is really good. I have it paired with a Sony Bravia X90K TV, TIVO Roamio Pro, and a Roku. Set up was straightforward, no compatibility issues. Occasionally the components will get out of synch and you need to reset the sound bar (remove from power) to get them back in synch. I suspect that this is due to the eARC and possibly the remote control set-ups. It happens so seldom that I haven't spent much time trying to figure it out, it's not really a problem for me.This setup doesn't work well with my Harmony Hub remote. Again I think it's eARC related, possibly due to how I set it up. I did spend a fair amount of time trying to get this to work (well), and while it did work, the programming was wonky and it tended to get out of synch quite a lot so I gave up and don't use the Harmony. Not a problem for me because I use the TV, TIVO, or Roku remotes to control everything (usually just need the Sony TV remote except for a few TIVO functions that it doesn't do well). One thing I didn't realize until I installed it, which isn't an issue for me but could be for some people, is that while the remote speakers and subwoofer are not wired into the soundbar, the satellites plug into the subwoofer (which is wireless but needs to be plugged into power). The satellites come with included wires which should be plenty long for most rooms, but depending on where you need to plug the subwoofer into power and where you want to place your satellites (eg high on a wall), this could be an issue. My room has power behind the couch which is where I placed the subwoofer, with the satellites on either end of the couch on speaker stands. This setup works well in our room (I used these stands: https://www.amazon.com/Sanus-Adjustable-Height-Speaker-Stand/dp/B002HZHUCW/ref=asc_df_B002HZHUCW/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=198081480945&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=14093473603307508778&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9011507&hvtargid=pla-348877864499&psc=1)One more item. At first the height speakers were not working. They are supposed to pop out of the sides of the bar and rotate to bounce the sound off the ceiling when playing appropriate content. Mine wouldn't do that. Turns out it was my HDMI cable (Initially I didn't use the one that came with soundbar - stupid!). Needs an HDMI 2.x cable, which apparently mine wasn't. After I replaced it with the supplied HDMI 2.1 cable it works great. Not all content uses the height channels, but when it's there it's pretty cool.
