I am not a big fan of Chinese products pretending to be Japanese. Nowhere on the package is it marked with the country of origin, and this is a chinese product. It pisses me off when they cheat like this, by using Japanese names for their products, claiming Japanese steel when I doubt very much anything came from Japan. It is against the law to not mark the product with country of origin, and nowhere is it labeled "made in china".They also didn't sharpen the knife that well.

The only challenge I faced with this paring knife was how and whether to use the blade sheath that comes tih it. I'm going to put it in my knife block so it really does not matter. But I must confess that it took me several minutes to figure out how properly to use the sheath. I figured it out, but the sheath in my "kitchen drawer," and slipped the knife into my block. The knife is excelleht. The grip is good, but I will use it for a while before I decide whether to take an edge off the corner of the handle. My paring technique has my hand feeling the sharp corner on the grip. I might take a file to it to round it a bit for comfort. The blade is of excellent quality. I just made a cucumber, pink onion, and Roma tomato salad using this knife. Great knife.UPDATE: I've used the knife for a short week. It turns out it needs no alterations to the handle. Great knife.
