The second generation of ARC wheels combines the shapes and achieves the tapered rim end and the more voluminous rim body – and thus the optimal aerodynamics. More width = less rolling resistance → 20 mm inner width!Wider tyres have a positive influence on rolling resistance. Due to the larger volume they have a wider contact area and can be ridden with less air pressure. As a result, the tyre deforms less than narrow tyres and the rolling resistance decreases. Rolling resistance is about more than just the forces that need to be applied to roll on different surfaces or to overcome obstacles. Wider rim widths and wider tyres support the handling characteristics such as traction and comfort, which are also important in the DT Swiss concept.
