The Negativity Fast identifies the culprits and provides easy advice for cutting those out of our lives.I don't know how this book will sell as compared to Mr. Iannarino's other books. He's known for sales books after all. It is a bold move to step out of that niche to give us a manual for living a happy, productive, positive life. I hope it does well, because if it does, we all win.

I read 70 titles a year, mostly in the area of sales and personal achievement. You may know Anthony Iannarino as a sales author, but The Negativity Fast is certainly a personal achievement book that every person can benefit from. And I would argue that this is not Anthony's first foray into personal achievement. I would describe his first book The Only Sales Guide You'll Ever Need as personal achievement meets selling. Even non-salespeople can benefit from reading it.The Negativity Fast is broken into 12 insightful and engaging chapters. The first three chapters delve into why it is that we can so easily become negative even when we are generally optimistic. Backed by hard science and quite pithy as Anthony is, I found these chapters both fresh and entertaining.Anthony then gets right to the task of how to eliminate negativity and how to boost your success by altering your mindset. I do enjoy aspirational works from time to time, and it would be easy to assume by the title that it is a book of platitudes and positive stories. That would be a mistake. What you are getting here is a very concrete set of practical and actionable steps you can take that will put you in a state of mind that will increase your daily personal joy - at least that's what it has done for me.And on that note I would counsel you not to underestimate the power of what is being shared here. Do you live to work? Or is your goal happiness? For me it's the latter. So with an open mind I started my fast and worked on adopting the the behaviors and reframing my circumstances. While your mileage may vary, my personal experience is that a lot of things I thought were important - aren't. I had no idea how much time and energy I was devoting to things that were making me less happy. So not only have I been happier, I've had more time as well.The final chapter of The Negativity Fast operationalizes everything you've learned into a simple plan. I started applying what I was learning in The Negativity Fast as soon as I read it, but this is a nice concise process for those looking for a checklist approach.We are surrounded by toxicity and negativity on all sides. It is sad to think that there are forces out there that use negativity as a currency to get what they want. Given the current state of the world around us I don't think there has ever been a more timely book. Everyone should read this. I have personally benefited from it and I want that for everyone. Read it and apply it. I thought I already had this nailed. I didn't. If you apply what you learn here this might be the most valuable book you read all year. I highly recommend it and I hope serves you as well as it has me.

I have been a fan of Anthony Iannarino since his first books came out, and they assisted me in my career in sales. Since I also receive his Sales Blog newsletter, which I receive daily, I know Anthony well through his writings.When I first heard he was writing a book on developing Negativity Fast, I knew it could help me. It didn't take me long after opening the book and reading The Preface. If I took notes and did his outline, it would help me.Anthony spells it out by looking at our problems and how we got this way, which is unfortunate. Unsurprisingly, we have some civil and political discord here in the United States because of this. One tactic in this book is to stop watching the news, especially the cable news network, which I immediately have done.Using that tactic and many more of the others he listed, I have more free time and have slept better.The book offers valuable insights and actionable steps for personal growth and development. Overall, "The Negativity Fast" is a compelling read that inspires readers to embrace positivity and cultivate a more optimistic mindset daily.
