A capable little spot welder for its' size and capacity. It is very lightweight with a plastic case and the quoted 5000mAh battery. It feels very much like a budget powerbank.Charging and power-output indication is by way of coloured LEDs. There is a guide to these settings in the instructions that are enclosed with it, and you'll need to keep this handy until you've got used to it, as there aren't any indications/labels on the 3 buttons.Charging up straight out of the box put in around 3300mAh, which sounds about right as it will have had some charge in it already. In use:It actually does the job very well, and produces good welds with no up/down power 'surprises'. Starting from the lowest setting, it soon became apparent that the ideal setting for simple tagging was level 4 (Level 3 was still very acceptable). Going much higher than this and you risk blowing holes. What it means of course is that there's a lot of headroom power-wise, so could come in handy for stuff other apart from battery tagging. As a lightweight spot welder for occasional DIY battery packs, it's certainly up to the job, and I do like it. Hopefully it will last (battery/power-wise), but only time will tell with that one.I currently use a much higher battery-capacity model to this one (and twice the price), which does offer a bigger range of power outputs. What I've found however, is that it's not really needed, and as long as the min/max power range is roughly the same, you'll just settle on one setting for most (if not all) of the tagging jobs you do. This particular model has 11, more than enough IMO.Couple of points to add...Get some little silicone or rubber feet to stick on the bottom to stop it sliding around on your bench (I don't know why they don't chuck some of these in the box anyway). It makes a hell of a difference, and I add them to every enclosure that come without any... including my current spot welder. The second, and most important point here is to keep the battery topped up.If you're only going to use it occasionally, you really do need to keep an eye on the battery level (every 2 or 3 months at most), as for some reason these devices tend to lose power over time (more so than a simple power bank), and if that happens you won't be able to charge it, as the level will have fallen below a set threshold where the welder won't even attempt a recharge. If that happens, the only way is to dismantle the unit and manually 'kickstart' it back to life. That would be particularly difficult on this one as it's a sealed plastic case (no screw access). I'm not saying this model is prone to the same problem, but regular topping up is the way to go here, just in case. This little welder does the job, and actually does it very well. Put it on 'auto' mode (which gives about 0.5 sec before weld after contact), and you'll be flying through you packs like a good'n.On a quality/value-for-money basis... 4-Stars.
