I spent ages looking for a stand mixer. This one is excellent, not too expensive but has all the attachments I need. The machine is light weight and the suction feet hold it in place whilst in use.

This is my 3rd appliance by Andrew James, I was worried that the quality would have gone down after the original owners sold up, however, the product and quality are still just as good! I have used this several times now, I think the flexible beater alone has been worth it. There was no need to stop and scrape down the sides of the bowl as you do with other (often more expensive) makes. My caramel cake, Victoria sponge and the buttercream that go with them all turned out perfect. I have used the dough hook for pasta and the balloon whisk for meringues and batters, absolutely no complaints on any of them. There is a knack to getting the best from the splatter guard, however! I found that you have to fit it to the top mechanism and then BEFORE you start mixing, lower the tool in to the bowl and then jiggle the guard down until it sits neatly on the bowl, use a tea towel to cover the hole where you can add extra ingredients, and almost nothing escapes. It sounds like a faff but it only takes a few seconds. The only improvement I would make is to put a lift up cover on the hole in the guard. Everything else is brilliant. Time will tell how long it will last, but so far so good!
