Have only had this camera for a couple of months, and it's failed miserably. I have the laview light bulb camera and it works pretty good, so I decided to try this one. It continually loses connection to the network even though it's only a few feet from the router. Everytime I open the app, it says offline. I have to unplug and plug it back in to get it online. Just what you want to do late at night or early on a cold winter morning. Trying to find a recording in the worthless interface is struggle of it's own. You get little floaters that look like bugs in the night time video that keeps triggering alerts, but there are absolutely no bugs out in the wintertime. I have to turn on human body filtering just to stop the hundreds of false alerts. This sucks because I live on a dead end street, and like to know what vehicles are passing my home. Finally, and thankfully it crapped out completely and won't turn on at all. Tried different power packs and same result. It starts to turn on and calibrate, then quits halfway through the startup cycle. Like I said, thankfully it died completely so I can junk this Chinese POS and move on with something else. Wanted this camera to work because it records locally without the need for a cloud subscription. Spend the money on Ring cameras. They may have higher costs, but they work like they should, Everytime. Save yourself the headaches and frustration and stay far away.

I have three of these outdoor LaView cameras and three of the indoor Laview Cameras. I like LaView better than the Ring cameras we have at work or the Swann cameras that we replaced at our house. The app takes a little while to get used to using, but once you figure it out it is very easy to navigate. The power cord is fairly short on these cameras and the provided power plug is not meant for outdoor use. I installed my outdoor cameras by drilling thru the exterior wall and plugging the cameras in to an interior outlet. My biggest complaint with these cameras is that rainfall often triggers the motion detection. That being said, the other brands of outdoor cameras I have used are just as sensitive to rainfall.I like the fact that you can insert a mini SD card and you don't have to pay for the monthly cloud storage if you don't want it. I have $10 cards in my cameras and they store continuous video for almost two weeks before they start overwriting. I also like that the night vision is good enough that I can see people walking down the street 200 feet away in the middle of the night. I can't tell who they are at that distance, but I can clearly see them and we don't have any streetlights or exterior lights in the area. The pan and tilt is nice and I use it quite often. Notifications are quick and the cameras are super easy to set up. I have never used the two way talk function so I can't tell you if it is any good.So here is a nice perk that nobody ever seems to talk about. You read all kinds of complaints from people talking about how you can't view these cameras on your PC. That is simply not true. I use an app called Bluestacks on my PC that emulates an android phone. The Laview app can then be downloaded to your PC on Bluestacks thru the Google Play store. It's as simple as that. My PC at work has two monitors set up and I open the Laview app on Bluestacks on one of them and have it set up to show Live View on all six cameras at once. I am able to see when deliveries are made and monitor what my dogs are doing at the same time. Bluestacks was pretty easy to set up and it is completely free. You are welcome.
