I’ve been planning on writing a comprehensive review on this to help other make up their minds whether to buy this product or not. But I have to do this today. The projector has been losing focus for a while and had to be refocused in a regular basis, but today August 12, exactly 3 months after buying this the autofocus stopped working. There’s no fixing it. Restarted the machine, factory reset, nothing. Avoid! Will update review as soon as I hear back from the company regarding a return or replacement under the warranty.UPDATE:so the first unit that stopped working exactly after 3 months was replaced by AMAZON and not the company, the amazon rep basically told me it was a favor and all other communication should be between the manufacturer and myself. So I emailed the manufacturer who told me to just deal with Amazon. Not great as this doesn't build trust, and when it comes to trust, this product cannot be trusted.Issues:- the new, replacement unit arrived and immediately was brighter than the first one using the same settings- software is buggy and many of the built in apps (HULU, YOUTUBE) are unusable, either too glitchy, buffering issues, freezing, black screen with audio, audio out of sync, it is clear that the built in RAM is not enough to run Android 9, let alone any future, more demanding updates.- Bluetooth is out of sync most of the time and there is no option to fix the AV sync issues manually like you can do it on many other android devicesMAJOR: WiFi dropping out - this is the one that's really really infuriating, I have to either restart the machine two three times per evening as the WiFi just drops out, says it's connected, but it is not and I have to turn the Wifi on and off to get it to work (most of the time a full restart is needed)MAJOR: HDMI input, the picture quality of everything and anything attached to the HDMI plug is terrible, especially if you want to use the "USER" picture setting, there is this weird black halo around the text (almost like the effect of some over sharpenning), the only time it looks ok if the picture setting is set to "MONITOR", but that gives the image a blue tint, anything else, especially custom settings are terrible.MAJOR: terrible software implementation with basic features missing!Picture settings: you cannot see the changes you're making as you have to exit all apps and open the picture settings app to make adjustments while using any of the built in app, however, when you use an external device, you can enter the on screen settings menu and see the changes in real time, why? Who designed this?Focus- same as above, you cannot trigger autofocus unless you exit the apps and go to the menu and get the focus turned on, why?Bluetooth connection: you cannot just simply connect or disconnect a device that you already paired to the projector, the only option is to "forget" the device and completely remove and then re-pair again if you want to use them, this is an insane oversight. Even if your preferred device is on the list and in range, there is no option to "connect" the only options you get is "rename" and "unpair"! Seriously?MAJOR: Software update: the last couple of updates made the unit even slower than before and it's hardly useable.I know many will say, why don't you get a dongle with it? Well, if I wanted to use a dongle, I wouldn't have bought a smart projector but a regular one. I wanted the product for the convenience and ease of use and not carrying dongles around. So yeah, in the past six months there have been a bunch of new and upgraded products that you should all go for and just stay far far away from this terrible product.Oh, did I tell you that now it started to show light leaking on the top right and this is a new "feature" after a couple month.I'll be reaching out to the company about all these issues and see what remedies they offer, otherwise I think I will take this up with the bank and will file a chargeback for a product that's being falsely advertised and is plague by technical issues non stop.

I wanted a good projector under $1,000, but I needed it to be compact. The shelf we normally use in the living room is about 6-7 inches wide, so with the cables connected, there was no way something 9 inches was going to fit.I did lots of research on the brightness of projector and stuff like that. If you’re planning on investing in something better, no matter what it is don’t be lazy. Do your research. Companies on Amazon will label their products as this or that, and they aren’t necessarily lying. But when they use their own standard, they might as well say projectors have a million lumens. It doesn’t matter. If they have their own graded scale and not an industry-wide standard, they can put whatever value they want. They’re counting on you not looking deeper into it.Since a lot of factors are very subjective with these things, I’ll kind of compare my old $60 one to this one because that was kind of how I made my decision to go with this one in the first place. The brightness of this particular projector is exceptional. I had a small projector labeled as 1600 lumens, not ANSI lumens. (Those 1600 lumens were probably closer to 100-300 or so ANSI lumens, but there’s a lot that goes into it so, honestly, it could be more. It could be less.)That one was nearly impossible to see during the day. It was also labeled as 1080 pixels compatible. The actual pixel number was probably 480. I could literally see every pixel. On this projector, it is truly 1080. I don’t see any pixels. The picture is clear. I can watch this during the day. At night, the quality is even better. It gets really bright. I have my projector about 12 feet away and the screen is approximately 120”, and the brightness isn’t the same as if it were an actual 120” screen, but it is truly bright. The contrast isn’t the same as a tv either. Look into that if that’s something that’s important to you. Using a black screen behind it can help with the dark sections of the picture, but I keep it simple and just project on a blank, white wall.I really like how convenient this projector is. Besides having the picture and brightness I wanted, most apps are available already on the projector itself. At this moment, they do not have Netflix which is inconvenient, but I went from having a cheap projector that I had to connect to everything to having one with WiFi, so if I have to connect my cable box, my phone, my PS4 or whatever just to watch Netflix, I’m really not going to complain. I’m generally not a fan of Android, but the Android tv has been pretty easy to use.I haven’t tested out using the projector much unplugged or outside because my particular needs don’t call for long, unplugged usage, but I would say most other people’s claims of it lasting about an entire movie’s length on power saving mode seem credible.Another thing that kept me from pulling the trigger on this purchase was the price. I wanted something compact, true 1080, and bright for, preferably, under $400 or $500, but the fact is that’s really impractical. You’re asking a lot and expecting a lot. This little projector truly delivers on all aspects. At the time I purchased, there was a coupon for $100 off and that really helped.

This projector has been amazing. 2 and a half years strong, using it almost every night as a bedroom projector instead of a typical TV. The sound is crisp and clear, and this thing can get loud. Although we have it to the right of our bed, so when watching movies or something more serious I tend to connect a Bluetooth speaker for more of a forward facing sound. The picture quality is STELLAR for its size and price, and it can get much brighter than I was expecting. It’s equipped with a smart google system, whatever it’s called, and honestly it works pretty well. It’s odd that Netflix is NOT included, but we have an older Xbox connected to it for netflix, as well as some casual gaming. We have it set up on our nightstand, sort of at an off angle but the image calibration is easy to set up, and the projector auto focuses each time it turns on which is very useful. We did buy a small camera tripod to make it easier to maneuver, which makes a WORLD of a difference in terms of ease of positioning.Nice gray color with an orange strap, gives it a sort of retro futurism vibe.Overall, I have absolutely not qualms with this projector (except maybe that the lowest volume is just a bit too loud, and daytime usage can be a bit underwhelming with any open blinds). Definitely worth the price, you essentially get a 80 inch tv on your wall with vivid color and nice functionality in a small, compact package. 2 1/2 years of almost nightly usage, multiple hours, and still going strong.
