Seagate Portable 5TB External Hard Drive HDD – USB 3.0 for PC, Mac, PS4, & Xbox - 1-Year Rescue Service (STGX5000400), Black

I specifically bought the Seagate that stated it worked with MAC computers. However, it did not come formatted for use with MAC computers. The instructions that came with it were pretty much useless. I looked it up online and found instructions on the Seagate website that told me how to format it for a MAC. Those instructions were easy to follow. Once I formatted the drive it worked very well and was easy to use. It should have come formatted for a MAC or at least included well written instructions for how to format it. Overall I'm happy with the product.

(Picture is size vs pencil) I was worried originally when I got it thinking it would be difficult to set up. Nope, just plug it in and BAM you have literally nothing else to do. It even comes with it’s own USB so you don’t have to buy one separately. The USB isn’t that long though. The hard drive is smaller than my phone and doesn’t get in the way of my tight setup. I accidentally unplugged it and worried I’d have to redownload my things, but they were all still there when I plugged it back in, PHEW! Now I finally have more computer space and it was so easy. Definitely recommend if you need more space too 🙃

Works great and its good value nfts format and cheaper than usbs. 50mbs file transfer speed, etc. Easy to use and a good amount of storage. The design is good too.

It’s a small external that holds a lot of space 5tb easy to travel with if you have to and easy to set up and I love how easy it is to move storage to the 5tb. Such a good price for 5tb too.

For the price, I’m beyond satisfied with this HDD. It has that hot cheap plastic smell when in use but after over 2 years (iirc!) of use, it’s still running strong and I still have plenty of storage space left to use. Set up is easy, it works just fine and I don’t notice any considerable increase in loading times on my games (using this for Xbox One). It’s fairly compact and lightweight with only two cords. Design is as nice as can be expected for an external HDD. I’d buy and use one of these again without hesitation.

I didn't knew that Mac uses a completly different type of drive type or whatever it is, so when I uploaded my files from Windows to the drive and tried to use the drive on my Mac, I was shook to find the drive didn't work on Mac (until I did a few things). I was only able to read the files but to to drag and drop or edit or move or create, nothing, I was scared that I bought a drive that only worked with Windows, but on the start guide they mention Mac, so I was confused, was I doing something wrong? Maybe is broken from factory? After talking to a customer support specialist here at Amazon, they let me know that I needed a driver in order to make those options work and it worked after I installed Paragon. Glad the customer associate was able to guide me through it BUT THAT INFORMATION SHOULD BE ON THE QUICK START GUIDE.

bought one to hold my music library as a backup. The transfer speed is great, didn’t spend too much on it and it’s good quality with a compact design. I recommend this for portability and for great amount of storage if needed

Worth the purchase! Great Product! Good Price! Small, compact and easy to use with loads of space to save your pc goodies. Delivery came sooner than expected and product works perfectly for my needs. I would recommend.

Nice storage unit, easy to plug in. But there is no automated software. You have to know how to use File Explorer to copy files to it. Also to create folders so you can find things.

I've previously used My Passport for Mac. The problem was that they didn't last for very long ( a little over a year each) and took forever to run a back up - usually hours. So far Seagate has been super fast and easy to use. Even the initial back up only took 15 minutes. Subsequent weekly back ups have only taken a few minutes.
