There isn't a huge difference between the 2018 model and the previous version. However, the glow in the dark zipper handle and red colored doors are nice touches. Otherwise, this tent is just perfect. I've used this tent in heavy wind, heavy rain and hot days; it is perfect. The rain fly covers the tent well, the wind just blows over so well that you don't even know it is windy and the mesh is great for keeping cool.

My wife and I used this tent at Yellow river Iowa for a week. Hot days, cold nights and few decent storms. Had zero issues.

This is a nice tent, like real nice. The zippers are smooth the material seems very durable, the seams look great. The only thing I do not like about this tent is the room inside. It's a 2 person, very clearly, only for two people, 3 people will fit, but man would I be claustrophobic. The tent inside, like most backpacking tents, has very little head room. Sitting up is doable but the roof of the tent is literally less than an inch away from the top of my head(I'm 6 foot tall). The vestibule, inside space is large enough for one pack without blocking the door. If your sleeping three this would be annoying. Let me say though, that this tent seems bullet proof, very well constructed, light, and easy to setup all by yourself.

My 11 year old boy scout son and I used this twice last summer, once with one of his friends and once with just us two. Both times, there was plenty of room for us laying long ways. With three people, my son in the middle, there was still plenty of room. Additionally, with two people, you both have your own door in and out. This is very easy to set up and take down, once you've practiced. It's light enough to be carried long distances; although, we only hiked in five miles both times, but with a 2000 foot elevation gain from the trailhead near Trinity Center, CA to the lake. If you don't buy this you're stupid or not thinking straight or broke or all three. The $300 is well worth the money. A tent of this calibre would have been closer the $1000 ten years ago if it were available at all.

At first, like others, I didn’t like the setup of this tent. However, this was because I set it up the first time in the living room for practice. In the field, it’s very easy. Stake the footprint, stake the tent, put two poles in one side, and go grab the two poles on the other side and push up. Then, it’s as simple as clipping and setting up the easy rainfly. Anyone struggling with this must be inside their homes.Performance: It didn’t leak for rain. It handled a snow squall. Above all else, it didn’t budge in an epic night terror storm with 80-90 mph winds (speed confirmed the next morning at the ranger station). To be clear, it was fully staked and taught-lined that night. Plenty of room for two. Double vestibules for gear (although it doesn’t come with enough stakes for vestibules, but those are easy enough to carve up quick in the field). Pockets to hold stuff and many loops to hang stuff. Glowing zippers are great. For backpacking it’s light enough if one totes tent and one totes food. For car camping it is good too. Wonderful product!
