If you're reading this you already know whats up, but still going to put my thoughts up. The first section of the book and the last 5-10% were fun, had a good time. The middle-late part was an ABSOLUTE slog. The breakthrough especially was painful. I was skipping so many pages hoping it would end. I was gritting my teeth and throwing out "natural treasures" (swearing) as much as zac was. There was also way too much time spent listening to zacs thoughts on various stuff that just doesn't matter. It's all so esoteric or irrelevant. How many times do I have to read a page or 5 about some topic to end up with some variation of 'I will deal with it when it comes up'. Yes to some extent it builds the universe or shares his thoughts, but keep it moving.I am not too surprised at some of the issues I am having, I remember a bunch of books ago thinking that the series should end around about d grade because otherwise stuff just gets too silly, and yeah its getting silly. If nothing else I have no idea what his abilities are anymore. Its one of the weaknesses of his abilities having really vague descriptions, as well as changing so often (compared to how often they are used in fights), I can't just read a text block and be like 'oh yeah that thing'. Deaths dividing arbitrationator of the endless scrutination or something idk man.

This has truly been an excellent series, but it time goes on the story becomes more and more complicated so many different aspects and open storylines. There was nothing wrong with this, but it starting to become complicated to follow all the different moving components. The story is still very strong and has excellent writing, but each time a new book like this comes out you kinda have to look back just to refresh your memory of the different things going on.
