Easy to use, reliable tester. Cable length feature is nice when hunting down old wires. Being able to plug in the modules in multiple locations when things are not labeled saves a ton of time.

We greatly appreciated this tool when running CAT8 cable from our main house to a large detached RV garage. The older testing devices kept giving an error due to the length of the run.We were primarily using female CAT8 punch down terminals and felt reassured once we had confirmed our wiring before speed testing. The wire length feature was also very nice and accurate. We made over 20 connections for this run of wiring, as our use of technology continues to expand with time. Now our pool controls, lighting, A/C and heating, locks, and many more devices are now all connected and running over very fast backbone. The individual location beacons were also great when confirming multiple runs in an area.I would highly recommend for any IT professional or amateur/DIY computer enthusiast who is running new computer network cables. This is a great tool to have available to test circuits and even patch cables.

This thing works like a charm! It’ll catch every mistake (and of course, I never make mistakes... well, maybe once or twice). Some features are a little tricky to figure out at first, but once you do, it’s smooth sailing. I love that I can add extra plugs and test multiple cables at once—makes mapping network cables less of a dreaded chore and more of a "hey, I’ve got this!" moment. Definitely a time-saver for anyone who needs to test cables efficiently!

If you're torn between this one and a cheaper model, get this one. I had the cheaper Klein tester and while it works fine the backlit display on this one and the additional features make my job a little easier. Having a built in toner is really nice. While I still use my fluke tools from time to time, I worry about this one less. I lost my last klein by leaving it in a ceiling grid somewhere. Hopefully someone out there is enjoying the free tool! It wasn't my first time leaving a tool and it probably won't be the last so having something that's multifunctional, reliable and not super expensive is great.

I just received this and used it immediately to do some troubleshooting on my complex home network. This is one of those tools that I should have had 10 years ago. It is great for finding bad cables and for identifying each of the cables where you have several coming into a hub. Several terminators with different "IDs" are provided, making it painless to map your network cabling. In my case, the biggest issue I had was actually a Port failure in a switch and NOT the wiring. This made that clear in no time. I would highly recommend this tester.
