For a frustrated novice with watercolour. This gave me confidence. Abstract gives you so much! And this gave the next path. Guidance through the pages has been so good for me. I’ve loved my experience physically, mentally. Heart warming. Don’t think twice. You won’t be disappointed:)

Bright and colourful - good to look through. I can't actually read some of the smaller print blocks of explanation on each page, even with new reading glasses, which is a design irritation for me as it is a generous page size, and the layout could have coped with all the text being an easy 'glance at' size. But, likely this problem for me means I will buy the Kindle version so someone gains... Gorgeous photographs and colours.

Kate's done an amazing job with this book.My watercolour paintings are mostly detailed and realistic. However, I have been struggling a bit in finding ways to loosen up my paintings. This book helps me to relax and fully embrace all the wonderful surprises watercolour has to offer.It has also helped me to wind down and relax after a busy week at work, and the fun projects make for a lovely warm up session before getting stuck into my more detailed/realistic paintings.This book is a visual treat in itself, and Kate's style of teaching makes her techniques so easy to approach and unintimidating. I've already tried three of the projects in the book, and thoroughly enjoyed the process and the outcomes.Highly recommend this book as an addition to your watercolour book collection. Well worth the purchase.Thanks Kate!

This is a fab book if you want to play with watercolours and just have fun. I've done several of the exercises and now have lots of ideas for painting, inspired by Kate's lovely work. it's colourful, clear, easy to follow and a joy to flick through - friends who have seen it agree!

Super book with interesting, varied and well-illustrated projects. There is something for all tastes and levels and the abstract designs are especially good for anyone who doesn't have strong drawing skills because the beauty is created through patterns and embellishment using black, white and gold. The instructions are easy to follow and provide a good foundation to creating your own pieces.So many art books on the market (especially watercolour books) offer nothing new or original but this book, with a focus on abstract art, is refreshingly different and great fun.
