The product itself is excellent: attractive design, easy setup, and fantastic WiFi performance in terms of throughput and range. I have a two-node setup connected via wired backhaul through MoCA 2.5 Gigabit adapters. I am admittedly not stressing these units since our Internet connection is currently only 300 Mbps and we don’t have any other heavy internal traffic, but I figured I might as well futureproof when moving up from a single WiFi 5 router. And on that topic, I definitely like having 2.5G Ethernet ports, including for a WAN connection. The Deco management app is also very good. I think the layout could be improved, and there are some improvements I definitely wouldn’t mind seeing, such as showing Ethernet link speeds and maybe the option to disable remote management for security reasons. But what impressed me most and may do even more to make me a loyal TP-Link user is their support. I spent 15 years in various Windows IT roles, and shortly after installing these I noticed a problem with outbound L2TP VPN connections from my Windows laptop to remote networks. My iOS devices worked fine, and some troubleshooting indicated that this occurred most often when I also had the L2TP VPN Server function enabled on the Deco to allow me to connect to my home remotely. I posted about it on the TP-Link Community forum, and an engineer reached out asking if we could do some testing via screen share/remote control. I agreed. The engineer was very capable, definitely not your typical first level support person. He accessed the two Decos via console/command-line to gather data and test some configuration tweaks, and performed some packet captures via Wireshark. The session lasted about 2 hours, but he found a temporary workaround that also hinted at the underlying cause, so he asked if we could do this again while a member of their R&D team was available. I agreed, and a few days later they were back for even more advanced analysis and tweaking via console. That was another 2 hours or so, but they gained an even better understanding of the underlying cause and said they would provide a test firmware update soon. That arrived ONE DAY later, and it solved the problem. So now they said they will be incorporating this fix into a future public release.I’ve always said that I don’t mind mistakes so much because I understand that people make them, so what matters to me is how mistakes get handled. In this case, I don’t mind a firmware bug as long as it gets addressed. And TP-Link’s responsiveness in that regard was top notch. It’s rare to see that these days, and it was a hugely unexpected surprise that probably means even more to me in terms of brand loyalty than the quality of the product itself.

My CR1000A Verizon router broke. I upgraded from G3100 for speed reasons but G3100 was so stable. Not a week after my friend 's CR1000A broke, mine did too. I was frustrated without Internet. Most routers are so ugly and distasteful with so many antenna looking like a UFO about to take off. All my furniture were white so I didn't have a whole lot of options. My initial choice was Google Nest but it was so basic even though it looks good. So I opted for this good rated one. It's half the size of my Verizon router. I love that white cylinderical look. The LED indicator of green saying connection to internet and red saying disconnected is just so helpful. Now, I'm happy with the purchase for my use. I have a small place so mesh is not necessary. In fact, I might return it if I needed mesh. My friend has Google Nest and it runs smoothly. Deco was causing issues because mesh was on. I read forums and found that it's a known issue so I went into all my devices and turned off mesh mode. It was trying to find the best signal for me and if I'm moving away from the router/node, it was dropping connection. I cannot say if this issue is no longer there if there's another node. For me, as only using a single node, it was necessary for me to turn off mesh mode individually in all my wifi devices. If you are having problems with this as a single node, try turning off mesh mode and 'fast roaming'.If you have hard wire switches throughout your house, make sure you power cycle them. I was scratching my head trying to troubleshoot why my wired speed were 1/3 of what it should be. Power cycling the switches fixed it. Wireless speed is amazing. There's no drop in speed. It's exactly the speed I subscribed from my ISP.Another upside to this router is that it has 2.5gbps LAN ports. My house is wired in CAT 6 and 7 so I can take advantage of this except I'll need to upgrade my switches, NAS and computer NIC, lol. For the premium price I paid, it should have been 10 gbps LAN because even the Verizon CR1000A has 10 gbps LAN. I don't get why 10 gbps LAN tp-link routers are above $500. Unbelievable. Wait a few years I guess. With Verizon, I used to have to use a desktop web browser to manage my network which I didn't know was so outdated. I can now do all of that from Deco app on my phone. It's so intuitive and didn't need a whole lot of learning or prior knowledge. I love this Deco app. I can see all my clients, separate IoT network for my wifi light switches, reserve DHCP address, block, isolate clients, etc. all on my phone. That's so convenient.I tried chat support with Deco support. I had a pleasant experience. Didn't have to wait too long. The support guy made sense and knew what he was saying.Bottom line: It looks good and it works great once the mesh mode is turned off in single-node configuration. It's $100 more expensive than what I wanted to spend on but I didn't have a lot of options for white routers that looks great, works great, and fast.

The TP-Link Deco AXE5400 Tri-Band WiFi 6E Mesh System (Deco XE75) is a stellar upgrade for anyone needing fast, reliable, and widespread Wi-Fi coverage. The setup process was simple and seamless using the Deco app, which guided me through the steps with ease. Once installed, the system instantly improved the speed and strength of my network across multiple devices. One of the standout features is the addition of Wi-Fi 6E technology, which unlocks the 6GHz band. This significantly boosts bandwidth and reduces congestion, especially in a household with many smart devices. Streaming, gaming, and video conferencing have all been smoother and faster, with no interruptions or drops in connection. The tri-band coverage is excellent; it blankets my entire home in a strong signal, even in dead zones where my previous system struggled. The design of the units is sleek and modern, so they blend well into any room without being an eyesore.Overall, the Deco XE75 delivers superb performance, enhanced coverage, and future-proof technology at a reasonable price. It's a solid investment for anyone looking to upgrade their home network to handle high-demand activities effortlessly. Highly recommended!
