I have no complaints. My motherboard found it, and I was able to put Windows on it from a flash drive installer. I haven't explicitly run any benchmarks or speed tests, but it has been running like a champ as I put more games and software over it. My motherboard already has two heat shields for SSDs and I put it under one of those, otherwise I might have preferred one with either a white heat shield or some RGB lighting. This doesn't have anything fancy, but it's fast and it works.

The WD SN770 1TB is the best value for your money in gaming and general-purpose scenarios. If you want to update your HDD or SSD with SATA, this is the best option.Pros:Read and Write speed: The SSD have a big speed, the test of the image was run on a PCIe GEN 3 If you have a MotherBoard with PCIe GEN 4 on his M.2 ports, you will have better speedEasy Installation: The installation was easy in my ATX Motherboard, Take your precautions if you want to install it in a small dispositive, It has a 2280 form factor; check the compatibility your dispositive manual. The SSD doesnt come with a screw so if you dont have one, you have to buy one to install correctlyEndurance: The durability of the 1TB SSD is 600 TBW so if you don't constantly move a lot of data in your SSD, it will have a long lifespanTemperatures: The temperatures in this SSD are good, you dont need to worry about it if your case has good airflow.Cons:Doesnt have DRAM: If you're a content creator or if you constantly move data in your SSD, I recommend buy one with DRAM like WD SN850X. Not having DRAM in this situation isn't bad but its worth it if you have the moneyConclusion:For those gamers who want a good quality SSD M.2, this is your best option for the price, improving your gaming experience and loading times.

I installed a 1TB WD Black SN770 gen 4 PCIe NVMe ssd rated at 5150 MB/s in an Acasis TBU405PRO external ssd enclosure rated at 40Gbs ( 5GB/s) Thunderbolt 4. This combination performs better than I expected. I am seeing data transfer speeds of approximately 3000 MB/s using Crystal Disk Mark testing software on my PC laptop. While I never achieved the 5150 MB/s speeds advertised on the ssd, (I don't think you'll ever see much over 3000 MB/s in a 40Gbs enclosure) I do think that 3000 MB/s transfer speed is BLAZINGLY fast. It exceeded my expectations and I'm VERY happy with my purchase. The enclosure was about $100 a couple weeks ago, and the ssd was about $75 a couple days ago. I think that's a pretty good value for 1TB of NVMe ssd storage. I use these ssd to store videos I produce during my drone building and flying hobby. I use about 2TB per year and I find it convenient and cost effective to just install a fresh ssd in the enclosure when needed. I do power up the old ssd a couple times per year during storage to guard against "bit rot" or data loss due to electrical "seepage". I expect the data to be safe for about ten years if maintained properly. Plus this isn't "critical" data and it's only one part of my back-up strategy.

I bought a mini-PC to start my switch to Linux on with this drive. Linux Mint LMDE was installed and operating prior to the installation of this storage device.Uneventful installation. Good!Upon booting the system, Linux recognized the drive. It appears to have formatted correctly.I’m not sure what to expect these days, but Linux did a benchmark for me and I got 6GB/s read and 3GB/s write which to me seems pretty fast. For reference, I’m pretty old. I learned to use computers on a PC with IBM DOS 2.1 and an 8086 processor. …iPhones amaze me.I think I have way more computer and storage than I’ll ever need.I’m happy with the performance of this storage device and it’s speed. This storage device is a bargain.
