The product has met my expectations. We have an adjustable bed with a pillow top mattress making it higher than most mattresses. We obviously disconnected the electric to the adjustable bed. The rail is high enough to keep my wife from falling out of bed which is a God send.

I purchased this for my grandson (age 10) to use on his bunk bed. The reason for needing this began with my grandsons traditional bunk bed mattress (bought new from rooms to go) was weak and thin and not comfortable at all. He said the mattress was so uncomfortable, that he would rather sleep in his oversized bean bag chair than on the uncomfortable mattress. So, I bought him a new 10-inch thick mattress here on Amazon which he loves (called TeQsli Twin Size Mattress 10 Inch, Gel Memory Foam & Pocket Springs Twin Hybrid Mattress). So, you would think the problem was solved, right? No, not so quick... Now the new mattress is slightly higher/thicker and he ended up falling off of his new mattress in his sleep onto his bean bag chair, where he decided to sleep each night for fear of falling out of his bed again. So, we bought this bed rail to act as a safety device to keep him from rolling off his bunk. I specifically chose this one because his bunk bed frame had just a metal frame and other bed rails didn't have the cross pieces of support this one does to be able to stay on his bedframe under the mattress. Also, I like the extra strap that provided double insurance. Now, my grandson loves his new comfy mattress and feels safe using this bed guard rail system to keep him in his bed when sleeping. And, another good thing about this is that the side guard rail folds down when he wants to willingly jump from his top bunk down to the oversized bean bag chair... (I guess that is fun for a kid... since he made a point of showing me that particular option.)... Anyways, this is a strong thick-framed bed guard rail unit... It is not cheap and wobbly, but something that can be counted on to do it's job properly. My grandson trusts it, and if my elderly father ever needed one, I would get the same for him.
